The meter is good but the lines are pretty long here, I suggest cutting it down to a pentameter which creates a more natural flow to the language. The alliterations in the lines sketch out a nice music, and the rhymes echo true, but I think it could also use some images, some color, some shape, some texture, to liven it up, or else it sounds more like prose in an essay. Poetry needs an image to transcend itself, to bring us into a new understanding of an experience. estory

Thank you immensely for your very helpful review of my poem, it was encouraging to get to know what could be done more with the poem. Since I read your review on it I did a study on pentameter and that was very informative. I really would like to take this challenge further and if I may send you a new version of the poem for you to go over, would be a big help.?

Most English poetry is in iambic pentameter, it kind of has a more natural, conversational sound that way. My suggestion is... read, read, read poetry. Read Shakespeare, read Coleridge, Keats, Yeats, Heaney, read it all, and listen to the possibilities of making music with language. Music is the key, and the images. estory

It is best to just be joyful, letting gladness fill your heart
instead of facing disarray as your morning falls apart.' I have been to Iceland for an extended stay and like the Swede I am related to I find that they have a very cool and laid back way of looking at things. This poem is a wonderful way to look upon life. I enjoyed it immensely and it's a great life lesson. Thankyou and good luck love Meia xx

Well, it all depends on how we look at things individually. By the way, I'm now living in England with my English husband.

For me, the highlight of this poem is it's message. You are so right, life is all about positivity.
Love the alliteration in the first line. And the last two lines of verse one are superb. I'd never thought this before, but life really is 'just like a vapour that will fade away.'
