I use to take the bus every summer to go somewhere. Barely they were ever on time. I meet some nice people during my trips. This is a sweet story that you tell. Great picture too.

Such a great way to tell a story like this. I love poems that rhyme, call me simple minded, but I find they it gives something extra that really helps me connect with the story. What a read!

It was Trailways with me! One thing about wheels they do keep on rolling. Well penned. Brings back memories of the Nashville music sound.

For truth, I'd be curious to know how many people board a Greyhound to leave a life behind and start one new?

HI Brett ...

Yep, has Country Music written all over it! As you might know, I'm a professional songwriter and there's the makings of a good lyric here for a song. Would need some touch-up and some minor changes, but has all the basic elements. Would need to write a bridge or chorus for it, though.

Enjoyed the story of breakup and indecision! Nicely done! Thanks for putting my musical muse on notice!!

Best to you ...

Alan

This has all the markings of a terrific country and western somebody done somebody wrong song.

All the elements are there, the bus, the wheels rolling, the forlorn misery with no place to call home.

It's about time somebody beat up the Greyhound bus.

Well done Brett. I can hear it.

Glad you enjoyed these Country lyrics. Almost all of my poems are actually lyrics.

Great poem. It sounded almost musical. All you needed was a bridge and chorus.
The poem seems to change as it goes along. It started out with you accepting that she was leaving because of you, but then it switched around to being greyhound's fault.
Great rhythm an rhyme.
Great poem.

Is this a poem about a dog or a human? Is the poet morning their dog? If so I am sorry for your loss. The poem confused me. It sounds like a lovers break up and the greyhound is all the guys got left. Thank you for sharing.

I enjoyed the rather sad, ballad like quality to this. Free style format it might be, but I enjoyed the rhythm and the way it rhymed.

Good job. Thanks for sharing.

This would make a great song Brett as well as the poem - a country song I am thinking. Good rhyming couplets and meter.

Glad you enjoyed these lyrics. As you know, since you have read many of my poems, most of them are indeed Country lyrics.
