This is wonderful, go and see if you can bump into him again. Strange ships tall ships pass in the night, I love the imagery of your words. Thank you for sharing.
Bless you
John

Dear John, thank you for your review and the five stars. It was an odd, out-of-place occurrence which stayed with me long after it happened. I can still remember what he looked like and the tie pin he wore. I wonder sometimes if he remembers me. thanks again for your review. cheers Cass

Wonderful words of a fateful passing. we never know who or why we meet the people that we meet. The thing is to leave a lasting and positive impression on their lives no matter how short the encounter may be. You never know what that person may be going through or need at that time. I wonder about all of the encounters that we miss out on. Beautiful work!

Hello Cherub, thank you for your review and the five stars. This is an old poem written at a time of loneliness and melancholy.
I think that sometimes such episodes in our lives promote the most beautiful, and heart felt words . I have found this to be so after reading and reviewing the works of others and receiving such tender and personal revelations about their lives. It is a privilege to be so confided in and one I treasure , never to betray or take advantage of. It's a part of being in the FanStory family
    Cheers Cass

Chance meetings are often puzzling, like you wrote, you wonder was it meant to be. I like the comparison with ships that pass in the night-a chance encounter, never to see again. Good use of rhyming and most enjoyable. Faye

This is a thoughtful poem. Sometimes I have met people who it seemed like we could really connect if we only knew how to get started,
Filled with raucous singing (Life is noisy, busy)
Pass beneath the silent skies
And seagulls winging (But in the quieter moments are thoughts are swirling like seagulls winging.)

A very interesting look at a phenomenon that occurs sometimes in life. It might be fleeting, or last a short time, but it always leaves the same feeling as unrequited love. Nice read,
Rhonda

Cass, I do love this poem. It reflects so hauntingly. Ships and people, they have a way of coming into and passing out of our lives. No rhyme nor reason, or maybe?
There is. Like you, I wonder.

Interesting rhyme scheme. It is intriguing.

Dear Friend, Thank you for your review and the five stars. The rhyme scheme "Just happened". I think sometimes there is another hand guiding my pen, because I remember after writing and reading it, how pleased and surprised I was with the result

Hello Cass Grant,

~Ships In the NIght~ sometimes I wonder this same thing. Why did I meet that person? Sometimes is someone that makes a big impact in our lives and other times is not. Good job!

Thank you for your review and the five stars. this was just an incident from a rainy day, when someone blundered in to me and hurried away with no word of apology. I forgot all about it and the poem I wrote about it until yesterday when I found it in an old folder. So I thought to Mahself Ah thought "Wal, no harm in sharin" cheers Cass
