Interesting poem, very sweet. There is one word - sometimes is one word. I understand the story, its a shame you are not faithful, I don't understand why people do this.
I have a faithful partner, but he doesn't want me in his life. Its all relative, it evens out in the end.
Thanks for the read.

Nice romance poetry. I love the smooth links between the stanzas. Yes, some times the game does not go the way you'd planned. I love the AABB rhymes.

A good poem Brett about a love affair and then love lost. Well written in good aabb rhyme form. That well known saying 'It takes one to know one' is very effective - good title and good in the last four lines. Interesting author notes - gives the reason for the saying. Warm regards Dorothy x

I love that you somewhat share the responsibility for splitting up: I wasn't there, she found someone else. The repeating line in the last stanza can have so many meanings: I know myself best/it takes the right partner to really know me and so on. It really sticks in one's mind as a puzzle.
This poem pulls the reader in, yet leaves a lot of unanswered questions: where were you (there had to be a good or at least understandable reason for not being there), why was se crying (loneliness, something more). On the other hand the unanswered questions probably show really well all the confusion and disbelief when a relationship suddenly (but not unexpectedly) ends. Thank you for sharing this poem!

Very good message and well told in rhyme, Brett. What a shock to find out the one you're cheating has learned to play the game too. LOL!

How true. So sad, but true. Those that think they are so clever, may find that the other half of their marriage is being sneaky, too. I only ends in disaster for all concerned.
Your poem rhymes nicely and has an even tempo.

Well said, Brett.

This is very well penned as the rhyme and meter flow beautifully throughout. It is a sad story, yet one that is more common than many folks are willing to admit. Nicely done and I thank you very much for sharing it.

This poem reminds me when a relationship goes bad, as the woman must move for in her life. When the man hurts her by ignoring her needs or wants. The best revenge is living well and to move on.

Yes, people only have a certain amount of patience when it has to do with the feelings of another. Excellent rhyming and great message. It can get too late. Faye

So, so true. A beautiful piece of work of really a tragic situation. A broken marriage that could have styed strong if the work was put instead of taking the easy way out. Unfortunately, marriage is just a word these days. There are too many unfaithful spouses that never should have even married. Divorce is too easy these days. This is a great description of the player being played. Great work!
