Nice story about David and how he sought the Lord's help and he knew, He is our salvation. You did a good job writing this story.

I love to read your expositions and I am amazed at your inspiration to explain Jesus and His ultimate sacrifice. Indeed, we are free because of Jesus and we give Him for granted.
Well done, as always Deniz22!!

Thank you so much for your kind words! Yes, a wonderful thought...free to draw near to God without fearing condemnation because Christ was once and for all condemned in our place. Wondrous love! God bless you, Dennis

You have given both positive and negative aspects of simplicity using biblical knowledge to substantiate your points. Yes, in the book of John we have been told to simply belief that Jesus is God and He died to save us yet people remain skeptical and refused to believe.

Simplicity also has its virtue as it's better to live a simple life devoid of clutter so that we can enjoy the peace that passes all understanding.

Thank you for your lovely review. I would only add life sometimes turns chaotic and it is during the storm we appreciate the peace which indeed, passes all understanding. God bless you, Dennis

This is an excellent essay and sermon which resonated with me. You provide a new perspective to familiar Bible passages. What drew me into your essay is how you define the positive and negative aspects of simplicity. Your essay also had a strong message that glued all of the parts together and propelled it forward: "Anyone can be saved (made right with God) by "simply" trusting Jesus who paid the price for every sin we ever committed."

Reading your excellent post today blessed me. Thank you for sharing and caring.

Dear Linda, we are to rest in Jesus' sacrifice for us. He made us right in God's eyes when we trusted Him to save us from our sin. Simply continue to believe Him above all others and seek to know Him better by reading the Gospels, especially John. He can and will remove any spiritual anxiety for m you. Love you, Dennis

The world is brim full of wisdom, begging to be heard. Some say that simplicity is the highest form of wisdom. Now how does one define 'Sin"? Is it only the turning away from God? And what did Christ mean by his words; " Oh Lord why hast thou forsaken me." I have never fathomed that simple question. So many things don't bear answers.

Thanks for reading and commenting...Christ was forsaken for our sin, not His own. This was God's way of meting out full justice for every sin, so we could be confident when coming into His holy presence.

Hebrews 10 puts it this way: 19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful."

I believe any question raised by reading the bible is answered in the bible. I hope you will find this to be true as well. God bless you, Dennis

"David sought the Lord's help. He did not give up because things got rough. He knew through experience the Lord is faithful."----- Talk about not giving up when it seems everything and everyone is stacked against you, Job is probably one of the purest examples of this in all of scripture, Dennis. Whenever I get so low, so down that I feel i simply can't (or won't) take another step, God guides my hand to the Bible and the book of Job. After reading that chapter alone I soon realize that if we hang in there, continuing to honor God and his promises through even the darkest of times, we'll be much better off for having done so in the end. I really believe that with all of my heart and soul. I have to, for if not, I'd already be dead by now.

Excellent writing as usual, my friend...

Thank you, my brother Dean. It's good to also go to the clearest part of the Bible as well when things are going good for us. Scripture states we "see light in His light" which I take to mean we understand the more obscure spiritual truths when standing in the light Christ has given every believer. (1 John 5:20: And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.) God bless, Dennis

A wonderfully simple yet provocative essay. Your points were all well made. All of your simple truths added up to one simple truth, give everything to God and he will return the favor.
As usual, I learn just as much from the author's notes. I never really realized that Jesus calling out from the cross constituted such a grievous separation between them.
I hope that your post is well received and heeded by someone who desperately needs it.
Thank you for sharing it.

Thank you for your kind review! I appreciate your reading and commenting. I too hope some will find comfort in this piece. And yes, Jesus was separated from His Father so the weakest believer could be assured he or she will never be separated from Him. Wonderful truth, marvelous grace! God bless you, Dennis

Excellent Writing. I enjoyed reading your well made writing.

The Bible has a lot to say about simple people sometimes "simple" people are commended in the Word of God. Here's a example: Psalm 116:6 reads: "The Lord preserves the simple; I was brought low, and he saved me."

This is an interesting and spiritual post that the author has created with this piece of work. Simple people are truly blessed. I often wonder if they are better off because they have less worries than us.
