I couldn't enjoy a poem more - I love the owl too, and yes, I also find that hooting very comforting, yet I've never considered how bone-chilling the sound would be to its prey. What a wonderful poem! Put me right there in the woods with the first stanza...

thinking about all the rules that go into creating a garlan cinquain gives me a headache, I can't write like that but I admire writers who can, and your poem is outstanding. I like the picture and the mix of color. The dark green with light green font go well together, the orange was harder to read but ok. Good job!

The complexity of this form disguised by its apparent simplicity would alone merit the six stars but there is something else going on here that you have not mentioned in your notes. Some weeks ago you produced a series of three in one poems and whether you realise it or not you have done this again here. First there is the poem in its entirety then there are two further poemsboth of which could stand alone and, since you have taken the trouble to colour the fonts differently, I will call them the Orange poem and the Green poem.

This is another tour de force for you. Congratulations.

In some cultures, owls are seen as harbingers of death. I know that once while hiking amidst fresh bear tracks and a gigantic white owl landed on a limb in front of me, I did not argue and skedaddled. I like your play with the form, the poem within the poem.

This is a very peaceful poem and I like the picture. I like your two tone poem and the way it sounded. I also thought the green background color was a nice touch as well. Thank you for sharing.

The poem highlights the different emotions a sound of a owl hoot can bring to the rodents I'd means the fear of death to the lover of nature it soothes the troubled soul. But in Africa they fear the owl for it believed to be a harbinger of immententbdeath to some one in the home

I love this. Mainly because it is about an owl with which I feel an almost spiritual affinity. Yes, I too have often thought of the little creatures cringing in their nooks and crannies while death sails above on silent wings. However I do wish to comment on the immaculate construction of this poem. It is faultless and compelling in its exact choice of words. I wouldn't change a word. Well done cheers Cass

I was unfamiliar with the Garland Cinquain and found your intertwining quite effective along with the random rhymes. I enjoyed your use of sound and the colored text as a guide. More cheers- Joan
