Our pair says it all. English is a mix of many dialects and tongues, that has never had time to pause in its tracks and clean up its act. Why should it, when it is preoccupied with living? It is easy to love the English language but I do not envy the stranger who has or wants to learn it.

Excellent

This is a unique subject and angle on the English language that I haven't considered, and it's a fun poem to read...probably should be the appendix to a High School English Text, come to think of it. The meter is on target for the subject, rather quick and happy. It makes you empathize with people trying to learn the language, since some of this stuff I still can't keep straight myself.

You did a great job, very clever and also very bewildering to
those of us who speak English as our native tongue. Have no fear though because the generation in school now have a plan to change the English language, or should I say irradicate it?
Texting and computor use has already almost destroyed cursive writing. Soon only we old coots who are left will know how to write or read 'old' books.Next they will publish only E-books
using text abbreviations. Watch it happen! Gypsymoth

They may happen sooner than you think. I teach high school 15-16 year olds. Very few can read cursive and none can write it. That is very sad!
