Thank you for conjuring up this lesson in a quatret and adding such a parallel photograph. Today, one of our tour group members left his I-pad on a bus bench and someone brought it to a nearby concession stand and he got it back! I am glad to hear that you experienced a similar event--it restores our faith in humankind. Cheers- Joan, from sun-soaked Seville

I once did the same as a kid- found a wallet while peddling my bike, emptied the cash- 60 bucks which to me was a fortune- and turned it in at the gas station as it was in the parking lot. And later peddled back and returned the cash - which the owner left for me as a reward for being honest. Funny how things work out. Good poem, though I think you need some sort of transition between the second and third line between I and who.

Says a lot for the power of a Mother's influence - for good or evil!

Love the story. Love the form.

My mom influenced my life and my thinking so much too.

A good deed is a deed indeed, for honesty pays in a lot of ways not only for God but for a commune of people who respect each other's property--something like this happened to me when I was kid. I brought the wallet I found on the pavement to the police, it had fifty pounds in it--a lot of money in those days. I just hope the cops returned it to its owner!

I like these quatrets. This is I think the second one of yours that I have reviewed. The struggle with conscience comes over well. I found myself wondering, "How vwould I have reacted". Your notes on the photo made me laugh. An excellent piece of insurance against the fortune hunters!

No that one slipped the net I think. I would have reviewed it had I seen it. If it was last week I was busy with proper work as well and got a bit behind. I ll find it in your portfolio.

Your poem makes a great statement. I like the indented italicized lines that represent your conscience. Excellent job with the rhyme. I see no changes.

One would hope that all people would return the wallet intact. But sadly that is not the case.

Good job and thanks for sharing.

A very beautiful poem with a wonderful message. We have to treat others and do things the way we would want them done to us.
