A poem narrating both the joys and the dreadful sorrows we can encounter when love comes to call but decides, for whatever reason, not to stay - the harsh reality of our fragile human love

A very beautifully and respectfully written sad love poem. You write them so very well Brett. I think this is one of my favourites of yours. Well done. Thank you for sharing.

Hi there,

This is a very lyrical poem you have crafted here. No real surprise there.

Quite emotional and nice insight into that kind of relationship when the curtain needs drawn.

Nice write

Hi Brett - another good one from you - this time about love gone wrong. I like your first 3 lines about the middle - end - beginning. Appealing to a lost love, but it does not always work. What is gone is usually gone. A good read - flows well with good rhyme. Warm regards Dorothy x

The best thing I did was to let go and I found better love that will last forever. This this is an excellent poem and it flows well with good rhyming thrown in as well. well dome my friend.

Excellent! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story-poem. In my opinion, for what it's worth, I reckon these would make great words for a song. One just needs the right music to go with it. Beautiful words, well done and best wishes with this one.

This work has a great rhyme and pace along with a very moving message. It holds the reader with emotional grip and brings compassion to the writer for the kind and loving thoughts expressed in such a dark situation. Great artwork and great work all around! HIS GRAYNESS

I am always perplexed why people wait for the one who left. If someone didn't want me, I would be so hurt and angry, I would walk away, erasing them from my life.
Your poem puts a different light on love.
Excellent.

Ah back to more familiar ground after your recent holiday in Japan! This is one of those lyrics I had a tune for before the end of verse 2. Some of them work like that and some you have to devil around for. Do you have the tune in your mind before you write the lyric or does the tune spring from the lyric?

I like the way you created the strength of love in the man who is so 'in love' with his woman that he will wait for her to return to him, despite her quest to find love that Is already there but she hasn't seen it for herself yet. One day she may end up sad and lonely! A Good read Cheers Christine
