Mother to Son...
Yes, they suffer so and bring us into this world....
And yes they suffering doesn't stop just because...
From changing to feeding to later those scraped knees..
Wiping away our pains and tears...
A mother's job doesn't last just a tear.
Unfortunately, some mothers like mine....
Could care less so Brett I admire that you got the 'Sweet of the Deal" and yes she awaits and patiently for her dear.
My latest is similar but Father to Son.
"He Awaits Patently..
Check it when you need a good cry...

I was surprised at the country genre - different from your other writings.
I sent some lyrics to Nashville once for a contest for an April Fool's song, and got a gold ribbon. Wish I'd followed up on it. (forgive this personal insert)
Your lyrics are heartfelt and heart warming which pleased your siblings, I'm sure.
It's a wonderful tribute written with love and appreciation.

Family means everything to me and mine. We have a good son and a bad son and a daughter that'd make you scream. Enough is enough you say. Your mom is the best in the world to me,she is bright,cheerful and all work as a team to keep it together . Here now and forever after.

Those are the most precious words I've read for a while. I lost my mother last year, and the pain of her loss hasn't dimmed at all. Your thoughts and feelings are mine and many others on here too, I expect. I keep having the...'what if'...thoughts, stupid, nothing could have prevented my mother's death. She pined away after my wonderful father died. My consolation is they are together and we will all meet up again when the time comes for us to go. Very beautiful words, Brett, and I am so very sorry for your loss. Sandra

Those are the most precious words I've read for a while. I lost my mother last year, and the pain of her loss hasn't dimmed at all. I can imagine how hard it was to have performed this song at your dealy departed mother's funeral services, Brett. Yet, as you stated, it must have at the same time been one of the highest honors you could have ever achieved. No Grammys, no Music Choice Awards, could ever replace the pride you must've felt. I'm certain it will be a memory you, and your dear mom, will treasure for an eternity.
Quite a story here, my friend, and not an uncommon one for many single mothers.
It's a beautifully written tribute to the nurturing, caring ways of mothers everywhere.

I also made sure she was buried with the original copy of the lyrics of this song I gave her in her coffin so she would know how much she was loved for all of eternity.
