Hmmm, good question, why would mum think dad is trying to hurt Billy??? LOL, I couldn't help but laugh about the games they played, but it was just as well mum came in when she did!! Another fabulous, funny story, Bill. :)) Sandra xx

I forgot the one where Dad taught me how to swim. The hardest part was getting out of the bag.

Playocide is an appropriate title for this cleverly written piece. Poor little kid just thinks he is having fun with his dad. Thankfully, the mom was around and had the dad removed by the police.

I thought this was a great title for your wicked story. Short and sweet with a twist in the tale.

Personally, I would use quotation marks. Example:

"So Billy...Why do you suppose your mom thinks your father is trying to hurt you?"

"She just doesn't want my dad and me to have any fun together."

"What do you mean, Billy?"

Thank you, CG, for the excellent review. I actually had quotation marks on it to begin with. Seeing that I had no tags or narration I removed them. Happy day. Bill

PLayocide, indeed some mean dad, lucky little boy he has his mother to safe him,
that's some dramatic story in a way, God bless you, Lakeport.

I'm kinda leaning towards the inclination that young Billy's dad is a psychopath, but I hate to rush to judgement. If that were the case, then young Billy is just as nuts as he is, which harkens to that old tried and true saying...

"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree", or "nut" in this case.

I got a feeling if Billy's mother has anything to say about it, his dad won't be seeing little Billy again for a long, l-o-o-o-o-o-o-n-n-n-g time, lol...

Thank you, Dean for giving this a look. My oldest son and I did lots of dangerous things together and many shook their heads thinking I didn't understand the risks to the boy. Nothing like Billy's obviously whacko dad, though. Bill

Hi Bill,

This is horrific and hilarious at the same time. The perspective of the child - his innocence- would be charming if not so misguided. The rational of the father is disturbing.

Very nicely done

I thought this was great. In addition to being a tribute to you, it is a tribute to the power of dialogue to enable the reader to understand a great deal through inference.

I like the title, Bill. Sounds like some sort of psychotherapy session with Jason from Halloween...'How it all began'. Scary but a little funny.

Bill;
+ Very well written pelvic quite horrible nonetheless. But I guess this is the sort of thing that happens when the father like him. I like how you put it into dialogue we you had the sun speaking as though he did not know what was going on in the other person listening in total shock after what he had heard.
+ In icy short story that I enjoyed reading very much.
+ Thank you for sharing and posting this Bill in your imagination is truly gifted in the way that is very inventive and ingeniously creative. Good luck in all your future endeavors my friend.

Amusing story; I guess this dad will never be nominated for father of the year. I think it shows how a child will rationalize a parent's behavior because it is so important for them to have the parent's love.
