This was a remarkable tale told in excellent poetic style. I think the font color is too bright making reading it difficult and distracting. Well done, Tom.

Thank you rod. I'll look at that.

What an interesting piece. I've often wondered what kind of reception awaited Pilate and Judas since they were, indeed, critically placed participants in the preordained plan. Neither one felt good about it so I don't think they could be considered irredeemably lost as some would posit. BTW, I had a tough time reading the text against that red background!

Thank you for sharing the results of your curiosity of Pontius Pilate and the additional tidbits in your notes. I admired your rhymed couplets and the cadence, plus found the "venom baited" description especially creative. I'm sorry I don't have any sixes left for your story poem--it's a timely, tour de force! -Joan

Interesting story about what happened to Pontius Pilate after his pronouncement of death sentence on Jesus Christ. I guess, he got what he deserved for that fateful decision. Excellent story line and rhyming. Most enjoyable. faye

This is an excellent historical investigation that lies within a complex rhyme structure. I know you like playing around with form s but I have not seen this one before and I have tried to fathom out what lies behind the structure. You must admit that the iambic rhythm isn't very faithfully kept but I don't think that detracts from the poem. Is there some relationship of form content? All I can think of is that the somewhat lurching and irregular rhythm parallels Pilate's ambivalence and prevarication and mirrors latter day Christian's difficulty over deciding an answer to the questin saint or sinner? I found it fascinating and must congratulate you on your painstaking research. The Medieval mystery plays under the title of the "Ludus Coventriae" or "Coventry Play" has an interesting scene played out between Pilate and his wife. Have you by any chance had a look at that? Thank you for giving me a fascinating time to study this post. I have enjoyed myself greatly,

Just the one play with two titles, the first in Latin and then its translation into English

This is new information to me and pretty interesting how a person's history can be made to fit whatever a nation wants it to reflect. The layout of the poetry was, I;m sure, demanding. Good read.

This is a well written history of what happened to Pontius Pilate. I didn't know any of the history. Thanks for the research and the writing to explain what happened to the man. Patricia
