This takes me back to the days of my teacher training and the work of the psychologist Piaget whose work was rammed down our throats throughout the 1970s. It is a well known developmental stage - alone yet together. They'll grow out of it. This poetic form is great for making succinct comments on many aspects of life.

This one made me laugh. I feel like the argument presented in this simple piece is one that most people have experienced - particularly those with siblings. As an only child, it strikes me because I'm a bit of a sore loser myself and so people didn't particularly enjoy playing games with me when I was little. Nice one.

The suggestion is clear. A statement that he does play games with her toys and is careless whether she gets upset or not so it is good that they both play their separate games but at some point their worlds will collide!
