You deserve to win with the photo as well, Tom, that was an amazing shot. You must have a really good camera. Your poem is perfect for it. How wonderful to be able to see them up close on their nest. It would be nice to see the babies, are you going to try? A pleasure to read and admire. :) Sandra.

Thank you Sandra. Yes, I'm checking the nest twice weekly. I definitely want to get action eaglet and action shots of mom and dad.

A nice photo of an Eagle on her nest. What an original poem to write for the Minute poem. It rhymes well and has the proper meter. I still have to produce mine. Best wishes for the contest.

A finished chore...And then the true labor of love begins, the endless hunt and feeding. Where do you go to watch the eagles? Such magnificent birds.

Thank you ravenblack. There are eagles all along the Mississippi up here in Minnesota.

The eagle had to wait for the eggs to hatch so offspring would be born that would be a match of their mother's beauty--skies ill then be filled with their soaring magnificence. Well done, Tom.

I was impressed that you were able to capture the photograph and the description of the sight with your Minute poem. I especially enjoyed your rhymed couplets and "woven wood" image. More cheers- Joan

Excellent tribute to such a graceful bird. I enjoy watching them do the snatch and fly when dipping down into the lakes for their meals. Thanks for sharing.

This picture was taken along the Mississippi at Grey Cloud Island, near Cottage Grove, Minnesota.
