I enjoyed your story. I played the role of Margerat for my little sis as children. Not nearly as well as your sis. You are Blessed and so is she to have had you. We never forget those we lose and in this chaotic world it is nice to still see the good. Blessings. Barbara

Hello alexgardiner, Your poem sings of the bonding love shared between a brother and a big-sister, second mother.
Margaret's love has secured you through life ... to never feeling lone and to show you the way.

Of special note:
her image is always there showing us the good.

(The essence of Margaret.)

Alex, I've heard so many of your poetry recordings that I can hear the awe in your voice as you read this poem in your very special, gentle way. Ohh, I just saw the author-reading icon. I'll have to click on it. It looks different. I hope that it works.

And so ...
His beloved Bonny Bonny lass may be gone
but her love and goodness still follows him
She warms his heart and fills his mind
Her joy, her gift, each day

Alex, this is a beautiful tribute. It is amazing how those childhood bonds can follow us ... all the days of our lives.

A poem from the heart. Keep the blue waters flowing.

A lovely photo of your sister I think. She was so kind but she died. I am very sorry for your loss. You and the rest of the family have very good memories. You know tat one day you will follow her. I have missed you for quite a while.

I'm so glad the sound of your lovely voice comes through on my browser :-)
Alex, this is a moving and warm tribute to your beloved sister, like a second mum to you. I'm sure she is smiling down, knowing the love she engendered in you and so many others :-) Brooke

Alex, what a wonderful surprise to find this piece - how long has it been since you graced the site with your poetry?

Not that this is typical of your usual hilarious verse - even the accent is toned right down for this lovely gentle tribute to your second mother, your older sister.

Hope all is well with you and that you ill be back on FS more regularly.

Steve

Very nice work dedicated to an older sister. She must have been a special person, clearly she was to you. I congratulate you on a work of appreciation that does not read like a Hallmark hard and is not loaded with overly sweet sentiment. don
