An interesting form, however, I feel it will be quite some time before I try
to write one. LOL.
Each stanza was focused and the statements were made with clarity and focus.
I cannot comment on the metrical feet as I am still learning those myself.
Maybe one day.
:-) Shirley

Thank you Shirley. Suffice to say those feet made it quite hard to write. I rewrote it several times before I got it right.

I am familiar with Sappho but I did not know about Sapphic verse--thanks for the information. The challenge must have appealed to you. I enjoyed your use of the form to describe inspiration and the wonderful photograph of Starry Night--I had no idea it was a puzzle--well done! I admired your use of alliteration and personification to emphasize your message, along with your minimalist style. Many cheers- Joan

Thank you Joan. I found this one quite difficult to write and get it right. Redid it several times.

In a wicked way, I'm glad to hear it wasn't easy for you to create--you always make the forms you choose seem effortless! Bravo- Joan

What a lovely poem, Tom. Inspiration does come from many places, sometimes in very strange way too. I love to play around with words, and fortunately poetry allows this. Love the Van Gogh. I was going to use that one tonight for my poem, there are a lot of his paintings on Google images. An all round pleasure my friend. xsx Sandra

This is a wonderfully inspiring poem. Even if the poetry is never published and the painting isn't a masterpiece, it is inspiration that takes us to the pen or brush in the first place.

This poem journeys through all the artistic forms: Art, Poetry, Prose, and Music all wonderfully displayed and at the end of it we delight at the words that overwhelms us--'The essence
Inspiration'
Well done, Tom.

Thank you rod. That structure was a hard one to write. Especially without rhyme, for me.

You teach us a new form here, it is very nice. You made the photo of this painting yourself. You write one needs inspiration for poems, music and painting. Thanks for sharing this beauty

Yet another new style! I always look forward to seeing what will be the next poetic publication you will pen!

Great use of alliteration throughout. It was quite different how you have them aligned at the beginning of each line in the third stanza.

Even though the verses are unrhymed - the near rhyme of butterly flies added a special touch.

Thanks for sharing,
Blessings,
Marsha
