your lovely grand daughter has a precious smile :-)
wonderful choice of refrain line
excellent rhyming in good octogram pattern except for the forced "was overran"
effective use of question to draw the reader in
good use of regular iambic meter to create the form's characteristic cadence
an adorable tribute to this gorgeous baby :-) Brooke

Thank you Brooke. Did you notice that her middle name is Brooke?
-
yes, I did :-) I've always loved my name - I know so many people who are not happy with the name their parents chose for them - but I was always delighted with Brooke - I hope she loves it too :-)

You have a very cute granddaughter and your whole poem adds depth to the traditional description of babies as bundles of joy. Their joy is pure, their smiles contagious. Excellent poem.

The picture of the lovely baby is as enticing as your Octogram poem. As I learnt from the notes, writing an Octogram with syllable count and rhyme scheme is not a cakewalk. You have presented the work for beginners like me to appreciate what goes into it.

What a cutie pie in an endearing pose and costume! Thanks to your daughter for capturing your granddaughter's happy innocence. I hear that the lens in cell phone is better than most cameras. I enjoyed your use of the Octogram along with its repeats and your clever rhymes. Cheers- Joan

"I loved this shot with the smile and tiger print. Hope you enjoy it as well." I do, I do! I'm a grandfather with two daughters and 4 granddaughters so I know those special smiles. Someone once said that a baby is God's vote that the world continue....

A baby's smile can light up the day and a baby's laugh is a real mood lifter. This light poem honors the magic of a baby's smile.
