Very cool chapter, Mikey. What an action packed story.

Just a typo in your synopsis: Some made recovery and others secumbed. (succumbed)

Great dialogue. I especially like Leopold's speech to the butcher. He doesn't mince words or emotions and I guess back in the day time was of the essence.

Oh boy and you left us on the edge of our seats wondering what is thundering in from the not so distant distance.

Congrats to you for your FanStory wins this year!! You worked your butt off and earned all your kudos, so celebration time is in order.

Happy New Year, and a totally awesome 2015.

Gloria

Mikey, this is powerfully written for effect and continuance of the story line. My absence has hampered me a bit on your story, but I will be reviewing more regularly now. Strong dialogue. One small thing intro has one misspell Succumbed. Well done, my friend. Have a safe and happy New Year. :0 GracieAnn

It must've appeared to those that saw it on the road [...appeared to those WHO saw ... >> THAT for inanimate, WHO for animate]

The carriage bearing the bishops and Leopold [This paragraph and the next provide such a beautiful contrast of wealth/poverty, power/vulnerability. Well-done, Mikey.

I can feel the ending approaching, Mikey.

It's been a good ride and it continues into the new year!

That was an awesome turn of events. It looked like Valerius and his people were about to be arrested, then Valerius and Cicero turned the tide. Isn't it amazing how quickly people turn to saving their own ass and forget their convictions?
I loved it that Cicero really did stand up and defend those who helped him. The only thing I didn't like was you din't really explain Leo's condition. You made it sound like he was just hanging around, healthy as a horse instead of having no eyes and arrows stuck in his back. I would put in a little more description of Leo's condition and make him a bit more frail. Make him pay for screaming with a cough afterward.
Other than that, a fantastic chapter. I can't wait to see what is galloping toward them.

Terrific work with this one. My only concern is Cicero's amazing transformation. I understand that he is thankful for the kind treatment he has received, but to make it more believable, you might want to go back and emphasize his gratitude and focus more on his transformation. Just a suggestion. You have my curiosity at a fever pitch not knowing what is coming next.

Excellent chapter, but that beast has resurfaced and showing no signs of repentance. Why doesn't someone touch him and infect him, fitting end for him! Well narrated and great story line as always. Wishing you and your family a Happy New Year. Faye

I was hoping Cicero wouldn't change back to a threat when the others arrived. The story continues with interest and excellent writing, as always. Thanks for posting. I thought your story Neighborhood Watch was the best of the 3 and voted for it. It had the best surprise ending.

About time!! Good to see you posting this again. It appears to be reaching a climax. I'm on the edge of my seat now. I hear the wolves and I suspect those are mastadons or their ghosts. I cannot imagine what is coming. Bring it on!!!

Very good scene, Mikey. I'm glad Val and Travis and Cicero were believed. Now... what's all that noise and why? Please hurry and write the next chapter. I hate suspense. LOL! Even tho it IS a great way to end this....making us wait and want more.

I hope you have a wonderful new year, my friend. :)
