Is Junco not is a winter bird? .. forgive me, Tom - perhaps I'm not too bright tonight ... not sure I comprehended the second line.
Is the second 'is' a mistake or am I missing something?
Maybe it's time to call it a day and head for bed!
Hope you had a lovely Christmas, and the dear lady's back didn't act up too much.

This poem captures the agility and magnificence of this bird that prefers the winter. I am sure they enjoy the treats in your feeder. Well done, Tom.

"Junco Jargon"--nice alliteration to begin a well-penned avian poem, Tom;
My mother was an avid bird watcher--seems to me she may at one time have mentioned this bird--not many birds endure winter--the junco being one of few to survive the harsh elements.
Nice artwork--the poetry complements the winter scenery.

Thank you Margaret. Yes, they survive by staying in pine boughs which give them protection from the elements, especially when flocked with snow.

Dear Treischel
The words of your Essence poem fit the requirements of this form perfectly! They set the mind thinking - "Junco?" Never heard such a name - which then makes this short little poem very informative. I like the explanation given in your author notes and the photo complements your poem well.
Thanks for sharing :)
God bless,
Christine

Yes,I have not heard a junco,a winter bird.Do birds enjoy winter? I think some flocks migrate to other lands. Those who can't fly like birds,stay and hibernate.Thanks for sharing.
