I think your work is good, I actually enjoy reading it even though it's of such a sad reality.. I think that's what makes your work interesting to the reader. I'm remembering a similar poem you wrote not long ago, I'm pretty certain this isn't the same one, anyhow I remember it and I think it's because of the ending. I think this good would be excellent without help me at the end. I just don't think you need it there. It does something to the rest of the work.. just my opinion

Hi there Dawny53, I'm not aware of you having reviewed any of my poems before. I must have missed that one, sorry. I'm not sure which poem you are talking about that is like this one. It's mostly about the cycle of depression and the 'HELP ME' at the end was just to show what the voices usually say.

Thanks for you review and the time taken to read it. :) Jaq xx

It's ok, Jaq, I hope you're feeling ok now... or hanging in there.. I get depressed often. It affects my life terribly... as does my anxiety. I'm here if you ever need a shoulder.. just a click away. It's amazing how helpful it is just to know that sometimes. Take care..

So easily I can relate. I'm bipolar...Mostly I'm manic, but I have plenty of down times! I hear ya! I'd say one of the best things for people like us is to make sure we don't isolate! I'm in a 12-Step program. It's primarily for my addiction/s, but it addresses my down times very well.

Best wishes, my friend!

Mike

Awww bless you Mike. The down times are hellish but I have to believe there is always a light. I'm not too sure what a 12-step programme is, I will look it up but I wish you well on your quest for help. Take good care and many thanks for your review, :) Jaq xx

Blessings, Jaq. Yes, 12-Step programs are great for people with our issues. There are 12-S programs such as Emotions Anonymous, Alcoholic's Anon., and so forth.

    Peace!

I help you the best I can:) This is really exceptional:) I think perhaps the words can heal you more though. The words you chose Like say incubus and the morbid silence( that's my favorite) paint the picture so all can see. Take care and as always a pleasure to read and speak with you. Who is the lucky one now? Mark

Mark, you help me than you know. I do find words heal and to see them written/typed and out of my head makes them more manageable. I really enjoy our time talking too. Thank you so much for the wonderful review and rating, Jackie xxx

This poem addresses very well the feeling of clinical depression. The style is quite effective as it so vividly describes the terrible pain and hopelessness. The repetition adds to the feeling of desperation. This is a quite powerful poem and the picture adds so much to it. The black and white color of the picture and the black background and light blue print enhance the feeling as does the capitalized plea in the last line. Nice work! God Bless!

Brilliant expression of this rotten affliction, depression, Jaq.

Dramatic and effective repetitions in short lines and singular words, spilling down the page, make it all the more stunning!

Hey, look on the bright side, you Jocks decided you couldn't do without us English after all, though I see your wee village of Dundee was one of two settlements (including 'Glasgee') that disagreed. Haha.

Seriously, if you're really down, please PM me.

Exceptional write!

Cheers, Ray xx

There were 4 that voted YES and a number of anomalies in the process. But, hey ho eh? 3 fire alarms go off in the Dundee count alone :/.

    I've pm'd you.

Thanks so much for your special rating my friend and your truly encouraging words. Jaq xxx
