What a great first childrens poem. The style, the flow, the images all complimented the story. The friendship for eternity expresses truth, I enjoyed the thrill of the plight of the turtles, their flee to the sea, it was an exciting poem intellectually written.

Hi. Wow, this goes back aways. Sorry about the pictures, they've all expired it seems. All pictures to illustrate the story, baby turtles, etc. I'm so pleased you enjoyed this. It was so much fun writing it and I WAS surprised that I could write for children and delighted too. Maybe I'll take a look and see if I can add some more permanent artwork and see if it needs an edit here and there now that I've had more practice. Thanks a million. mikey

Oh, I am miserable. I have no "sixes" left to award this delightful story poem. The pictures did not distract, only added to the enjoyment. It was written beautifully for all ages to enjoy and I'm always a sucker for child/animal relationships. The underlying "friends" theme along with the theme of "compassion" for the needy was a great combo. Thanks so much for posting this delightful effort.

Excellent story in the form of a poem. It rhymes well. I think kids would love it since the good guys win in the end. I enjoyed the pictures. This could be made into a children's book.

What a simply delightful tale, Mikey. Love the interspersed pictures. You tell the story through verse very well. Such an amazing ending.

About five years ago this very weekend we witnessed 35 baby snapping turtles emerge from our yard. Their mother buried her eggs there several months prior. We made sure each and every baby turtle made it to the lake or the swamp.

This is just terrific and I would not think it was a first try. I liked your mix of words and photos - at first I thought it might be too busy, but it really did add to the enjoyment of the story. My wishes for very good luck in this contest. AT=/

Well, honestly the first part I don't think kids would like, attacking birds at baby turtles won't bring many smiles. You work hard at maintaing the form you want but, it does flow smoothly. And too many photos, some are nice, but the work should paint the picture in the mind.

Your poem is great and, I am not a kid. It had great flow. I love the pictures intermingled with the words. They are not distracting. I could "feel" the beat although I did not know what it was called. This would make a great children's book including pictures. I see nothing to change. You did a great job. I really would make this into a children's book. I was not expecting this when I chose to read it. However, I am glad I did read it. I like everything about it. Thanks for sharing.

Oh my...no more sixes this week. No more sixes. If I had a seven, I give you two. This is so lovely, so well done, the whole thing. I raced through it. Totally surprised where it went. Great job.
