If the lad could could follow this line of thought logically and come to a conclusion that answered the question he had set himself he would have secured himself a useless life in politics - which could be defined as talking around the subject without answering the questions put.

I was raised in a military family and Father's Day was always an extra emotional event because so many fathers of families that we knew could not be at home to celebrate. There have been uncountable sacrifices made by so many to protect our nation. These days, there as many women away from their homes and families on their special day as there are fathers on theirs. I enjoyed reading your story very much.

It wasn't my son, I was just putting my story together and thought how children need help when they put together things for school.
I am a grandmother who loves to help, maybe to much.

Well, all I can say although we celebrate both father's and mother's days, but there is no holiday as such, but we celebrate the Queen's birthday, which is not actually the day of her birth, but we have a nice long weekend, which is welcome, beautifully written, and thanks for the great post. Most interesting facts about Father's Day - definitely fathers should be recognized - but also they should be front and center in every family. It's unfortunate that many kids grow up without a father around. This can cause a lot of problems for those kids.
Once a good friend, single, who had a young girl child asked my husband to be a substitute Dad for her daughter at a banquet. A good choice as my hubby is a good dad to our four sons and our grandchildren's good grandpa.
I'm thankful.

What would some people do without grandpa. Sometimes men are so burden that they can't act responsibly. When this happens, some leave and never come back. I saw a movie once and it was called the walking blues. It is unfortunate that this happens and children grow without having the love of a father or even a substitute. Divorce can bring about the same results.
