what I find fascinating is that what we think of as the height of romantic love and occurred and were created when what most thought of as love was unrequited.

Nice poem

Oh Michael, you are so very right...love has no age to it...it is just how you feel...I know young people who have closed it off...and older who live it for what it is...so very well said...and very nicely written...Luff Linda xxoo

Never locked because they are basking in shared love and never locked because really, if the lonely soul is looking, that door must stay open at least a crack.

Mikey, this 5-7-5 Poetry Contest contest entry has perfect syllable and line count with the proverbial ah-ha moment at the end. This is a strong entry! All the best in the contest! :0 GracieAnn

A good entry. No words wasted. Love the author's notes. I agree that falling in love at any age is thrilling. Excellent alliteration with "L".

Mikey, a very creative and provocative piece of poetry. Truly this soul never grows too old for love. In your home in expresses exactly that. Your 5/7/by syllabic format is written perfectly by syllabic count reasons. You've touched upon a very thoughtful premise and one that I haven't seen written about but one that should be addressed. Thank you for doing so and thank you for sharing them posting this for others and may you have a good one always.

once unrequited
lonely hearts find love at last-
soul's door never locked
Perfect syllable count as required for the contest
Unique topic. Love know no bounds and age doesn't matter either.
Good luck in the contest

Your words can't be any better for this wonderful message. If you lock up your soul, you may miss the best in life and love no matter what the age. In fact, my Mom found love again in her 80's! And I've never seen her happier. I wish you the best of luck in this contest. . .Sharon
