Gave me a chuckle! Hubby loves doing his taxes ... to each his own - ugh!!
Sorry you have to pay - that's a downer, for sure.
Happy Easter, Tom!

Thank you Brooke. Yes, a common activity with shared emotion.

Hit the point hard and true. Tax day gets everyone by the pockets(including me). You've followed the structure for a quintain poem perfectly. Breath easy, tax day is over.

Thanks. I'm now relaxing since it's over.

Loved your poem and especially that you wrote the formula for the poem. It's perfect, makes absolute sense, and leaves me feeling inspired to try to do a quintain of my own. Well done.

What I like the most about your poem is the honesty: "spent all day WORKING the numbers" (which does not bring to mind honestly filling in forms, but rather, working backwards to try to find enough deductions!) Love this fun ditty & thanks for sharing.

My husband has been working all day on ours, and fortunately we'll be getting something back. I enjoyed your timely lament in this short form, along with your rhymes and the clever illustration. Cheers- Joan

Hi, Treischel,
"Tax Day" is an excellent quintain rant against paying your fair share to support this country.

Thanks Preston. I see you don't have much sympathy.

I'm sorry too.
Tax time is certainly an intensive time and causes much
angst for many.
,The quintain is quite an effective format and easily says what needs to be said.

Thank you Shirley. How are taxes in Austrailia?

I am laughing two minutes after reading this succinct truth! And I am finishing up my wife's taxes today as well. The laughter was not at you but with you and the photo of the guy being "shaken down" just sold it all!
EXQUISITE!

Thanks Nottoway, as i sit here today writing out 2 big checks, at least you made me smile. I sucks that they don't withhold on social security, but tax it. I always end up paying since I retired.

Oh no... double check those numbers. Good light on an annual subject that people dread. Good visual imagery. Good rhyme. Expressive. Sad. Good work.
