What a great year and to write a 1-9-6-2 using this format is great.
It was a year some of us can remember well. There were so many things happening then and we can still feel the nostalgia of that year.
This story captured the vivid imagery in the year 1962 so well and the recollection sets the mood for us to dream of the good ole days.
Those were the happy times being a teenager and without too much responsibilities weighing us down.
We were young and beautiful then and look at us now, smiles.
A truly nostalgic write that covered the whole spectrum of that colorful year of 1962 in 1-9-6-2 format to compliment it, :))
Very well written. Excellent. Bravo!!
Cheerio, best, Ritchie. :))

P.S. Got to find me a time machine to relive those happy days!

A modern poem which following the pattern of news review recalls the main events of the year 1962: the death of Marylin, the opening of the Wal-Mart store in Arkansas, the rock and roll, the young people with long hair etc.

It is original, well written and the reader can feel the nostalgia for that period.

The poem ends so nicely:
"
What
a most incredible year it was!
I miss my twenty nine
inch waist."

I was fifteen in that year, so I can remember all of those things you have planted in this thoughts garnered in this poem. This was well written in form and format. It was a very entertaining piece of poetic art to have read and written this response for... John

This is really and indeed splendid!
The poem was quite interesting all the way down about the events of 1962. But you couldn't keep up with the beat nor did you with the syllable count.
But don't get me wrong you did well!

This reviewer remembers it all very well. Days when automobiles had class and looked and was made from real stuff. Thanks for sharing. Well done. Shalom.

What a throw back to the old days. I liked the study in history in each stanza. You gave enough detail to make things clear. Nice imagery. The voice was clear and strong. Nicely done.

Clever . . . I enjoyed this for many reasons. First because I lived those days - 1962 was a great year. Secondly- the 1-9-6-2 syllable count. Tough one - good work my friend. You aced it. I would love to go back for a little while myself!

So many events , memories and occasions. You have depicted them well.
This is a clever write, my friend. Even with the expertise you have in the different structures available, you have a good flow in depicting your thesis.
Good write,
RG

What a delightfully nostalgic and insightful look at a time gone by. I I was only 6, but I have come to respect and understand how vital that year was in our collective development as a nation and a world.

And the last line made laugh out loud!!

What a great walk down memory lane. I remember 1962 fondly. Was in the Air Force at the time ... stood guard duty on the flight line during the Cuban missile crises. My wife and I attended a double feature at a drive-in. The movies: Dr. No (with Sean Connery), and A Shot in the Dark (with Peter Sellers). Was on the base when news of Kennedy's assassination announced. It was quite a hell of a year. And yeah, that 28 inch waist was a thing to behold.
