Absoltely a wonderful piece told in another partys eyes as seen by one who knows but is unable to stop the slaughter of one so full of peace and knowledge

This one I love both for the message, and the terrific and skillful techniques you've employed to convey it. The staccato feel of the lines, the rhymes woven in... none feel forced... it is a wonderful work, Mark!

Thanks again. I like this one a lot too. It's funny how alike each one is, and how differently people react to each. I like what you've highlighted. They are things I meant, so it's nice to have you confirm. The gift of stars is very generous.

Guess I'm in a six-star mood today, but this is worth every point on the star. Elegantly and artfully written, the words cause emotion to leap from the page(screen) and into the heart of the reader. The repetition of some phrases is most effective. The format and how it builds in power as it goes along is remarkable. And the whole Easter story is here, completely told. Kudos on this marvelous piece.

I'm glad you are in a six star mood, and I appreciate that mood, the gift of six stars, and your kind words, greatly. Your comment about the emotional impact is important to me, as I have tried very hard to make it that sort of experience. Fundamentally, all Christian know the narrative, so interpreting responses and emotion is the province of the poet. You are right about the whole story being there. I think you already know, but in case I haven't got this right, I have now done one of these for every major player in the grand drama from Judas to Peter.

Mark, this is another powerful installment as the story of Jesus' last day on earth. The realization of the pagan soldier that Jesus was who He said he was is a stunning fact. Well done. :0 GracieAnn

Thanks Gracie Ann. I liked this man better after doing this as I focussed more on a backstory that led to the famous lines under the cross. Jesus to come. That's my poetic aim, not a prediction. That's been done. Appreciate the kind review.

The centurion is a confident man who knows how to read a situation. This is an excellent verse from the point of view of the centurion and his realization of what is truly happening. A strong man who is humbled by the strength and power of the quiet Son of God. You bring a lot of emotion and sensitivity to this moment of conversion and faith. Well done. Amazing artwork to enhance the verse.

Another very well-executed piece in this series, Mark. And again, some great modern vernacular thrown in, not just for good measure, but for great effect. My faves:

i really give a toss
i am ro-man
i'm a Jesus fan

You've also shown us the other side of the centurion, and most importantly, how love can break down even a hard man's defences and allow his spirit to emerge, which we get to progressively witness as the piece unfolds, culminating in these lines:

'on the stroke of three
i feel his love for me
i want to cry'

Excellent! Can't wait to see the last one about Jesus.
Cheers
Paula

Very well written. I hope I am writing this clearly. My eyes are a little misty right now from reading this. It truly has captured the man's heartfelt belief.

This is beautiful. It gave me chills. We have all read of the roman Solder who said "Surely this is the son of God," but who has written the crucifixion through his eyes? Very powerful.

This is a very captivating work. Usually I don't read graphic works about His crucifixion, but this one captured my heart. A pleasure to read.

This is truly the Son of God these words were spoken by this centurion and i often wonder why he could see it and so many in this world today cannot even those at that time couldn't.
Well executed and most welcome for the season.
