Oh, Dean,
What do we do when Halloween comes around
And there is no Dean Cook from which we hear a sound
I weep, I gnash teeth -- I command him to stay!
Even if I could get him to stay just one more day.

The creepiness in his poems fills my blood with glee
As my creativity fights and claws to become free
To write with him would be grand
In his publishing, I would take a stand!! (Because he is the horror man!)

Good luck, dear Dean of my nightmare,
I read your writings as long as I dare.
I really do want to sleep a while
but if I read you I will stay awake in horror style.

This poem is lame but for your eyes only
Keep on writing about skeletons all bony!! :P

Love,
Nome

Can't seem to get enough of this one my friend! You know I love me some scurry stuff like this. I have to admit, I had my volume on high not thinking this wonderfully eerie music would have me soil my britches LOL!
Great job my friend, this helps me in my endeavor to write what's in the mind of Dean Kuch.
I believe this is going to be one hell of an inspirational ride for you my friend.]
God bless!
Steve

Great song by the way and definitely a great read. I really enjoyed this, the rhyming, the flow, and the plot itself. It was Dark and eerie. Institutionalized , locked inside your own head and behind locked doors.

Thanks, likeduhxbella, I appreciate your comments on this poem.

That's where I stay and constantly remain, I'm afraid. Locked inside my own head and behind locked doors. No, not really. I'm a pretty outgoing person in all reality, but my writing rarely reflects that.

    Thanks again for an outstanding review. :}

Oh, my dearest hena2014. Have you not taken a look at my portfolio, my dear? For that is practically all that I DO write. Horror is my genre of choice, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Thanks for digging this one up from the musty archives, dusting it off, and giving me your excellent review. I truly appreciate that!

    And, as always...Pleasant Screams, heh-heh...~

Poignant as ever D-Nuts. I have done some of my best writing in the silly shack, and the medicine is divine. Also, the tone is reminiscent of "(Welcome Home)Sanitarium" by the Metallikatz. Fester on, you un-poppable zit.

Check out "The Shriek of the Headsman" It will turn your soul to dust.

OMG - are you trying to give me
a heart-attack through fright, Dean...

you are such an expert with these dark poems,
and where an earth do you find such gruesome
pictures.... ugh!!

Ha ha, thanks, Margaret. I really appreciate it.

That delightful little fellow is a Halloween prop from our charity haunted house we host every fall. He moans and groans, and quivers...makes quite an impact on our patrons. We charge two bucks, and at least two non-perishable food items to get in, then donate the proceeds to the local food banks and shelters in our area.

I can relax now - my book A Tangled Past (my 7th) is being reviewed. Only have 3 more to edit etc. M

I love this and crazy pieces! What a great job! I even love the graphics. It applies perfectly. Dark and/or scary pieces are my favorite and you have certainly done a fantastic job here!

Well, thank you very much, Kimberly. What a lovely thing to say. I do try to entertain those who care enough to read my humble offerings. It is the least that I can do.

    I'm very grateful, thank you.

Sounds like someone is trying to cope with Marquis de Sade in order to scare us to join him in the looney bin. The sound track (screeching part) conflicted with my comprehension and imagination until I it turned down: a simple answer to a simple problem. Regards Alan

Sure thing, Alan, and thanks for reading this "crazy" thing. It was inspired by the Renfield character, from Bram Stoker's Dracula. That is where the idea originated, anyway.

That creep in your photo- I recognize him from the Halloween store. I like the ambiguity of just who it is who is speaking. I choose the doctor as I think this is a take on the old adage, if you question your sanity at times, you are sane. If you do not recognize your own lunacy, welcome to the bin.

Yeah, that's him. I have the prop. I run a haunted house every fall, (go figure, huh?) so I decided he was a good fit.

I'm glad you picked up on the ambiguous aspect of the piece. I wrote it that way specifically so the reader could decide just who it was the shadows had come for. You're a pretty sharp knife there, my poetic friend. But I've known that all along.
