Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Those cable executives should have the Pearl Harbor movie playing all day and all night as a tribute to horrible historical moments. And you're message is clear, Rest In Peace. Informative and well researched. Good author notes. Good poetic form. Great.

Hi, Treischel,
This is an excellent poem giving the full picture of the attack Pearl Harbor. It has excellent rhyme and rhythm. The refrain works. The imagery is vivid.

Brilliant poem and it makes me bitterly reflect at man's endeavour to be more powerful and destroy lives when we should all live in peace. So many American's dead, such a complete waste of human life. Well done.

With that, a GIANT is woken up,
Then starts the war buildup,
And gets Japan, and Nazi Europe,
To drink their bitter cup.
Rest in Peace!

Excellent Tom and no better write than one of Pearl Harbor Day. I was also my grandmother.s birthday so it is doubly as nice. Beautiful repeat line.

Toro Toro...
The Zeros attack!
That day should have never happen..
For so many reasons.
My mom was 9 years old and witnessed the attack from their home.
She will never forget that experience. The sounds of bombs dropping from the air with that eerie whistling shrill. The smoked that rose up higher that the mountains. The sirens blasting and screams of death filled the air.
The horror, the horror..

It's a same it came down to an eye for an eye..

Not the preferred witnessing, but do we have a choice?

Very cleverly written and a great subject choice.
This was indeed a very sad day for America and many lives were lost.
America and the world will never forget this brazen and devastating attack.
You have found just the right visual effect with the picture to reinforce your words.
I havn't heard of a Cole's rhythms poem before but it is quite an effective style and you have used it well.

Wow! This is a remarkable poem, Treischel. You not only tell the story of Pearl Harbor succinctly and emotively, but also within the constraints of a Cole Rhythm poem (which I have never attempted to write). I am also impressed with your knowledge of statistics and facts. I only take issue with one rhyme--"bitter cup." The rest are excellent. RodG
