Hi Bev, I think I've missed a few chapters with my absence. Loved this one where Jana is saddled with some inner conflict about the man she's meeting. Loved Donal's thoughts though. Yep, seems Mr. Dred is a real womanizer and she needs to tread carefully. Hope he helps her some.
Well written. luv jada

Well, Bev, you've done it again. Man, when you get ready to publish this little gem, be sure to give me a buzz! Excellent - very visual, and employing several clever devices to keep the reader on edge.

A perfect example is how you end with:..'the beautiful woman he'd never stopped loving.' Aha! But he's a cheat! He was just coming on to Dani! What can this mean? ;)

Here's another sixer for you! Well deserved, m'dear, great writing.

Hugs,
Gayle

I love how you've given the background of the relationship between Jana and Dred. Women love bad boys. We keep thinking we can change them. Ha! And even worse, she knows how vulnerable she is to him! Well done, Bev.

I love your use of the few Sioux phrases.

Oh, I don't know that I would have revealed that last line, though. "to the beautiful woman he'd never stopped loving." I would have left us to discover that as the story continued.

Congrats on having reached a point where you feel you can call it an 'end'. You're planning on a new book to continue the story?
Good writing, Bev.

Thanks so much, Adrienne. You make a valid point about that final line. I do have a tendency to go a bit dramatic at the end of my chapters LOL. I think I'm hooked on the hook.

Yes, the end is in sight. I have a few more scary chapters coming out of the hopper. I'm taking a horror writing class which is fueling the fire. Anywho, thanks for being so supportive and generous. I appreciate you! Warmest regards, Bev

You can tell an excellent writer by the way he/she can hold your interest when nothing adventurous or exciting happens in a scene. I also love that title and the beautiful art work you chose. Great chapter.

Hum, an interesting new twist. I personally think Jana is much better off with Donal, she will never be able to trust Dresden, with good reason. As always a great chapter, looking forward to the next. Rox

Good smooth introduction as the setting is revealed from the start. Good character balance and intense dialogue. Good transition between the events. Good intense pace as the tension builds toward the end of the chapter. Good work.

My reviewing has been cut way down because of my paying job. I think I must have missed a post. It took me awhile to figure it out, or it might have just been that I have a horrible memory. Anyway, you did a good job of writing.

Very good writing setting up the characters and a little background info about them. I was able to read this work and view in my head as a movie.

I like the way you used this chapter to give a break in the tension. Was that intentional? I follow Mastery also and noticed he did the same thing. It works well. I see that as a sign that the author can gage the readers need or tension release. I also liked the backstory peek at Jan's and Dred's relationship. My favorite line follow:

Like a physician aware of the little nasties circulating with impunity through the fluids of the human body, Jana was intimate with Dresden Stredwick's chezi okhizata (insincere) nature.

Now, here she was heading for an intimate meeting with the one man for whom she skated the edge where love and hate meet.
(great analogy)

Hi, Dallas. Thanks for highlighting two of my favorite parts. I appreciate that and the super review. And to be considered in the same league with Mastery - icing on the cake. Warmest regards, Bev
