I think I nearly shook my head off in agreement with everything your poem encompasses.
Life is now, and we are the masters of our own destiny's... our choice to how we proceed... half empty... or half full?
May you at least possess something that ignites your passion along with your love, and talent of writing.

Hi James, my friend. I spent a lot of my life waiting for something to make me happy. Now, I realize it doesn't work that way. I must be happy and enjoy life.
Sorry I am I am so far behind in replying. The way our bus system works (or maybe I should say doesn't work), it take me 5 hours to go to a 10 minute appointment. I took my laptop, but they didn't have wi-fi. Take care, my friend~Debbie xx

We strive even to get 2 or 3 of the choices you have listed. 4 means you are having a good life. The others? A rare bonus.

Yes , there certainly are no second chances except for the ones we create.
We strive even to get 2 or 3 of the choices you have listed. 4 means you are having a good life. The others? A rare bonus.

It's a nice piece of Self Improvement Poetry beautifully depicting the importance of 'Present/Today'.
Enjoying and Passing through 'waiting and wishing' in all the tercets, I found myself in the end pondering over the following worth quoting lines:
"Why wait?
Live your life today
Enjoy your journey
No second chances..."
Simple and meaningful wording/ smooth flow having its own rhythm/ carries a good message/ Worth enjoying!

Debbie, this is a neat piece of free verse, with good concepts and a clear theme. The mood is very plaintive, and one must hope for some good news, soon, for the writer. Pick out one of your needs and lace up your work boots and go get it. Even the effort can be uplifting.
