RIP. chey.
I could hear music as I read these lines. The repeated use of goodbye is very effective - creates a sense of finality ... no return.
A beautiful tribute to a gracious lady.
God bless you, Tom. xxx

Hi, Tresischel,
This lovely poem is a fitting tribute and a sad farewell to a generous spirit, a good person and an excellent poet. Thank you for sharing.

A very heartfelt and emotioal poem of farewll to a respected fellow writer.
One can only ask to be remembered as one has lived
and for this lovely lady the memories are cherished
and special.
The Ghazal style seems a very fitting form to carry a final goodbye.

Thank you Maureen. What a shock! I went back and looked. The last time she reviewed one of my poems was 10/23. Her poem, Despite My Fear, was posted that day. It really takes on meaning now. I was joking with her about her "limp pen".

Yes shocking indeed - same timing on my end too for review....and her poem makes perfect sense now.
Big hug my friend.

Chey was the first poet on the site who I really connected with, her nature poems written about Wyoming, my favorite stomping ground - and she never failed in taking me along with her on her nature walks. And I know she is walking the most beautiful trails now.

A great tribute to a great lady. I did not know her but I understand your sentiments totally. I especially liked these words:
"As your soul is settled, we are bereft.
Still, you've left written words as our goodbye.
So many lovely words you've left behind,
We find a legacy as your goodbye. " Well done.
