Amazing as I could actually here the heavy step of the bison on the prairie when reading this. This is wonderfully written and a most enjoyable read. Thank you so much for sharing this with me.

Their shaggy manes
with
huge horned heads
bowed to the plains

So very good Tom and such a write for the Bison. Your write shows much reverence for them. Sigh. Awesome.

I've read and enjoyed quite a few of your poems and you do seem to like experimenting with lots of different technical approaches.

Sometimes that can make them feel, to me personally, a bit 'forced'. No real criticism there btw.

This one, lacking all that, reads and looks visually very good (poor grammar yup sorry tired).

I'd rate this six if I had a six left. I really like it. I'm a great lover of nature and found this one really evocative.

Thanks so much for a beautiful thought :D

I like this freestyle poem. Is the shape to reflect the roaming of the bison.the echoes reflect the sound of the animals passing but also evoke that this is description of past events giving it a poignancy.

A very poignant piece of writing Tom.
Sadly because of mankind's ignorance, never again will we see the Bison roam the open plains.
"Echoes" a perfect description of a time since passed.
Great write
kind regards

An interesting free style verse.
I like the three words aligned to the
left as it adds depth to the poetry and
brings to mind the sond of pounding hooves as
they echoe across the plains.

Just amazing, Tom. You have SUCH a way with words - this is a word painting in motion.

Love ... ECHOES ... creates the background sound!

BTW, Tom, I lost ALL my reviews for Nov. 9th before I got to read or respond to them. Did this happen to you? I contacted Tom (FS) and he said that a message had been sent out to all affected, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

Suggest you alert them if you have been affected.

I can almost hear the sounds of those hooves in the prairie and the sound and echoes alone takes me to a distant place where the Bison rule in their wonderful habitat. Well done Tom.

Your poem recalls the great herds before the Anglos wiped them out. Now they're coming back I hear, but it will never be the same as in the time of Sitting Bull and his forefathers. I like the echoes at the margin. One suggestion: you don't need the Free Style under the title as it's kind of obvious.
