Ace story to share. The lighthearted spirit in a time of chaos and need. Very cute and amusingly sweet, :)
The letters are a nice touch to the prose.

Being in the military myself I do appreciate a short story like this around the holidays. It's really sweet even in a hard place and time. Thank you for sharing it.

Great story here, filled with some great imagination. I was intrigued right until the very end. So could not stop reading this story until I discovered what was happening all the way through. So had to give this author a well deserved six star rating.

Cute story. I'm sure the soldiers overseas are especially homesick beginning about this time of year, with the big family holidays coming up.
set out to Santas delight << Needs apostrophe to show that it is the delight OF Santa, his delight, he owns it.
set out to Santa's delight << Corrected
and it's shinning star. << Two errors
and its shining star. << Corrected

As a military spouse I was particularly touched by this story. I think your brilliant work honors the men and women who serve this country protecting our freedom. Great job

Being an ex-military guy, this story truly touched my heart, country. People don't realize how important the "little things" are to our guys and gals in uniform, thousands of miles from home, protecting and fighting and doing their duty. It means the world to them.
It may just be a can of shaving cream, or a stationary pad of paper to us. But to them, it's priceless. It is something tangible, something they can get their hands on, and it comes from home, from the country that they love.
This was such a heart warming story, and I loved every minute of it!
Well done, and my best of luck to you in the contest.
NOTES/SUGGESTED EDITS
"Not a minute toloose lose so much to be done on a minutes notice..."
"...set up the tree for JimNah Nash and company."

I had changed these the other day but for some reason this crazy fan story keeps jerking us around the past few days couldn't get on for a day and a half then part of the day what gives? we have lost a lot of stars because of it. I took 3rd in the contest by the way better than not being on the list. I am so glad you enjoyed this wish they had this over seas to read that would boost their morale.

I couldn't agree more.

Hi, this is a beautiful account. Set against the heavy background of war, It's happy, sad, hopeful, and filled with the Spirit, and atmosphere of Christmas. It tells me 'there is light; "Star of Bethlehem" even in war-ravaged darkness. I loved your tree paragraph, and how it lives on after sacrificing itself. This was truly inspired.
Good luck with this. God bless, from Maggy. xxx

A very sweet tale and a wonderful reminder to not forget those who are far away from family and friends during the holiday seasons to offer their services to their country. An enjoyable story to read.

There is something going on here, Mrs. Claus can tell - I added the comma
Mrs. Claus, her cheeks so rosy - add comma
The little tree gave out a sigh. - I added the period
you are a magical evergreen. You will - add period
grateful to be alive, and from their beds - add comma
detected from either side. He - add period
A touching story that captures the Christmas spirit really well :-) Brooke

What a sweet little Christmas story! The letters are the best part and they work like bookends at either end of your story. It's funny how kids really don't know what letters are, as e-mails and phones have killed that.
