Hi Jim, Hope you don't mind but I have chosen your poems to read this night.
I love animals Jim, they give us unconditional love whereas human beings (some) have agendas. A lovely little dog you
must have been very kind to her, because she LOVES you.

Colette, she was the very first dog that I fell in love and bonded with. My heart was broken the night she was killed. I can still see and feel her presence all around me each day. She was small, beautiful and very comforting. Thank you for picking this one to read and review,,,,,,,Jim

Little girl came into the home without much expectations. She only knew that she must love her papa and she did tried her best to give Papa the happiness he deserved.
She couldn't talk in a language Papa understands so she used her eyes as her way of expressing herself.
On the last day before she went to heaven, she tried to muttered a 'thank you' with a soft whine but her voice failed her.
In her eyes she told Papa. "I will always remember and love you, Papa. You take care and I shall watch over you for the love and kindness you have shown me. Goodbye."
Then she went away knowing that papa will be devastated and so she returned this 'get well' note to Papa.
A very touching story and I am sure Little Girl spoke to Papa through his pen when writing this note. Smiles.
Cheerio, great write and a very sentimental one too, bro Jim. :))
Best, Ritchie. :)) Hope all is still well on the home front. Take care and my prayers to both of you too.

Ritchie, I have struggled everyday since my Little Girl was killed. Receiving your review has given me a new perspective concerning her death. Your words have helped me to look at my healing in a much better way. When I wrote this these words just flowed. It was her talking to me in the way she knew that I would understand. Thank you so much for the message of your review and great comments,,,,,,,,Jim

aww, really heart touching. Again you show the bond between you too, and how happy was her life and your life together. She helped through many hard moments. I hope that soon you can smile thinking about the good moments shared.

Hi Jim,
This is an heart rendering poem and I enjoyed it from the first line to the last. Your rhyme is strong, excellent word choices, the flow is smooth and I love the theme. Well done, God Bless...chey

What a lovely tribute to a very special pet. I think sometimes God sends us a special little pet like Little Girl when we most need them. They are truly a comfort and require and ask very little in return. You have a beautiful way of thinking of her and the poem is wonderful.

Such a genuine and heartfelt letter. The pacing of it lets me imagine it as an illustrated story aimed for children to help with grieving. Well done.

Your poem is equal to the occasion. That is, is expresses the depth & sincerity & grief that you explain in the author's notes. I'm so very sorry for your loss. There's always that one dog that helps you thru the hardest stuff & there's such a bond. You've expresses this, but from a dog's point of view, so well. Great job! *smile*

I like the notation that your little girl was your loved dog. Yes sir, you moved me with this one as I love my Toy Fox Terrier. I often wonder if he would miss me. My daamn ex wife took two dogs and left me without closure with them a few years ago. That hurt more than losing her. I think I really HATE her for doing that, I get this feeling of badness whenever I think of never seeing my boys again. GRRRRRRR
But now I have my puppy named Mac! He takes all of my pain away, everyday.

Sad that people use their beloved animals as leverage of hate. Taking away that is so important to create hurt.
Thank you so much Dustybones for the 6 stars and exceptional review and comments. Remember, no one can take Mac from you ever,,,,,,Jim

Comment from Phyllis Stewart
Very touching and beautiful. As an owner of three small doggies myself, I can relate to how close you felt to Little Girl. I still think lovingly of the doggy we had to put down when his cancer came back after surgery. It's always sad to lose a loved one, and pets are no exception.
