Thank you for reminding me in this tiny poem about the memory of taking our son fishing about thirty years ago, when he caught one "teensy fish" after a long wait--he actually inadvertently speared it in the eye, but we did not tell him! It was a "Great finish" and I also enjoyed your alliteration of "g's". Cheers- Joan

Thank you, Joan, yes, kids are great because they are so easily amazed and entertained. Didn't matter how small, it was a fish.

Yes, it is refreshing to experience things from the eyes of a child--no matter how small. Hugs- Joan

What a sweet poem. I know that your little grandson was happy with his little bass. What a nice outing for the two of you making memories is so important. Sararb :)

Hi, Treischel,
Your pride and joy in your grandson was evident in this and it made me happy. I enjoyed this. Grandchildren are great. You can always give them back.

Aww, bless him! Did he keep it, or throw it back? I bet he wanted to show his treasure off at home. My brother loved to fish when he was young, then leave them in the sink full of water. He caught eels, I hated it! Loved the photo, Treischel. xsx Sandra

Awe.....My son is begging my husband and I to take him fishing like every chance he get. We haven't gotten around to it but it's good that you take the time out to go fishing with your grandson. His first fish of the day, yeah!

Hurray for a great grandfather-son moment. The 'ish' rhyme is nice. If the grandson's name had been a one-syllable name, I would have included that instead of the article 'a' in the second line, but I assume his name is longer than 1 syllable.

All right, you got me here. My dad always used to take me fishing when I was a kid so this hits home for me. I think you've done a great job of telling your story in this very succint format, and that's a great picture of your grandson. Best of luck to you both!

Thanks Gungalo. Yup, they don't need big one's, any size will do.
