Atlantic, Pacific and t'other three,... nice! :)

Wings instead of wits ... kind of the dumb blonde of the simian realm ...??

Very well done, R. Could do as a children's poem too, I think.

Upwards I'd (not I'll) soar

Perhaps someday . However until the time permits, we will need to ride airplanes and copters. I read a touch of Edgar Allen Poe ?

Thanks Ben. Poe is indeed one of my favourite reads so perhaps he influenced this! R

Oh what a light and airy piece. this is just wonderful and I don't have to run for the dictionary. But wings for wit? Well I just don't know

This is light, and fanciful - I like your rhyming and it moves the piece along at a rollicking fun rate! I read it aloud to my 16-year old whose comment was "I like it a lot, it's fun to listen to. I only wish it had not been a MONKEY!" (Flash back to the terrifying flying monkeys of the Wizard of Oz!)

Lovely work!

Excellent use of rhythm and rhyme but really, just pack a plane full of politicians and viola- witless winged monkeys. Just wish you could have written in heavy-duty umbrellas for us ground dwellers.

If moving's the clos'est thing to being free, well, flying's freer yet. I enjoyed the fanciful story, the rhythm and rhymes. Kenny

If your wish comes true and you decide to come to Australia, please aim for somewhere near the coastline. We have a vast hot dry interior where a monkey with wings might find it hard to survive. This poem is a lot of fun, but has wonderful rhyming and fantasies attached. Giddy

Yes my brother, you don't what an understatement
that thet the title of your poem will be on the day of
Jjudgement. For, there will be many who will wish they
were something other than a human being. Because
Man is the only creature, who has a hard time submitting
to the will of Allah(God). So, as your wishes to rather be
a winged monkey is rightfully so, most readers will laugh
at these words when they read it. But little do they know...
Keep writing.
