I enjoyed your poem, I read it several times, its difficult to find a quiet moment in my house and I am not an early riser. After I had read it, I listened to your reading, first time I see this and have to say it did bring an added element hearing the author read. Thank you for sharing

Very excellent job with this one. I once heard a quote from a saint that said: "if you only knew how powerful your thoughts were, you would never have another negative one." Your poem fits this precisely!

Hello Alex. Nice to read your work again. Enjoyed the sentiment of your verse, but wondered how this piece would sound as softly spoken prose? I don't think figures help the flow too much.e.g..." Early morning brings new happiness again" is much gentler than coldly referring to 5am Personal opinion, only. regards. mm

I enjoyed reading this very special story. I read it aloud, as per your request, and I think it's even better that way.
This is well written and I enjoyed.

I like that you're happy. It makes this poem resonate and creates a strong voice throughout. Violets, blooms, poems, my loves all start again... A Great line. Very beautiful.

Hello Alexgardiner, I'm listening to the simple things as I'm typing this review and reading your poem ... a cool breeze is blowing, the trees are lightly swishing, and the birds are singing. This poem reads and flows well and has good imagery and rhyming within. I especially liked:
Oh my, how happy can one person be,
other thoughts I can now clearly see.
My Bonny Wife and my daughter too,
about all things they are and what they do.
(Family and the ones we love are golden ~ are our life.)
I also liked:
Simple things make for happy thoughts,
they are the things that cannot be bought.
A cup of tea and honey on toast,
a pleasure that always gives the most.
(a sweet, yet bittersweet, pleasure for me ... it's the remembering of those not sharing the tea with me.)
and:
They make me so happy and VERY proud,
I DO, I DO, I SHOUT THIS ALOUD.
Happiness you see is there for you, all around,
Relax, see the Wee Wee things which are abound.
(Ohhhhhh, if people could only realize and find the wee-wee courage to just be brave and reach out 'cause you just might find an open hand waiting to pull you close.)
The essence of this poem and life:
You see happiness starts with a frame of mind,
simplicity , your loves and all things kind.
(Alex, this is so true. Sadly, many are lost within their ego and the war(s) within their mind.)
A poem of simplicity and life. Alex, I'm out of sixers, so please accept my virtual six.
Keep the blue waters flowing, and keep 'em simple. LateBloomer

Oh, bless you for sharing your thoughts on happiness, and for providing the audio file, which adds so much more to the sweetness of the verse. Well done, Auld Yin! Well done.
