You gave life to this antique jewelry
box through your lovely poem.
It tells a sad story of past loves
as the owner has aged along with her treasure.

Thank you so much for the nice review!

A very well-written poem. Any girl's dream is to have a jewelry box to hold her treasures and jewelry save. It is a pity the music doesn't play anymore but it is still a valuable treasure.

Allison, I always wonder what stories lie behind many old and treasured things I find or see. Great little free verse here, with a good imagination used... and what this jewelry box may have known in the past. Thanks and warmest regards, Marijke :o)

Glad you found the jewelry box. I love what you have drawn from the discovery. A lovely economic write that succinctly captures your response to the purchase.

Hi there,
I liked this very much. It starts observational but widens into a more broad commentary as it goes on. It is very concise but still carries an astute understanding.
Nicely penned.

Thank you for understanding my poem and such a nice review!

Allison, in my opinion this poem is not about a jewelry box, it's about a life that is as antique as the jewelry box. I liked it!! Very nice. Carole

The jewellery box, I had one as a child, with a ballerina and it played music, kept all sorts of secrets and memories, your little poem bought it all back.. thank you

Well, you've done it again. Very easy read about going from youth to old age. You have a knack for saying so much with just so many words.
Take care,
Ray
