Dear Jan, I empathize with you. But whatever the circumstances, once you put your trust in God, He knows best. I hope by this time, your son has change and accepts Jesus as His savior. Please keep trusting in the Lord. Amen

Your story is very beautiful and touching. A prayer many mothers including myself, pray to God. And He answers us and gives us relief. Ad we gave a children over to Him. Your story was good and you deserve a five stars.

Well written prayer and plea. Yes, I've heard him answer too. The last time I heard him very audibly He saved my marriage by changing my hard heart. We've been married now for 42 year....I'll have to write that story some time.

Hang in there. As you've said, God loves him too. A mother's love, a daughter's love...no love can crack that evil bond but God's.

I read this today. Maybe it doesn't exactly pertain to this situation but it may help: When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but
merely opening your hands to receive something better. Concentrate on this sentence.... 'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of
God will not protect you.'

This was a heartfelt post that no one would doubt to be true. The pain and anxiety roll through the sentences.

I suppose if I was permitted to edit God's answer, I'd suggest changing I never gave up on him or you TO...I never gave up and nor should you....but that is not a critique it is what I think might be a whisper between tears.

this is very well written, janilou, i am so sorry that this letter is true, but you give us the blessing of seeing a mother who won't give up on her child and trying to shoulder some of the blame for what happened. i pray the drugs will not win and God will use your son's story to bring others to Him. congratulations on your win.

Wow, I liked that little touch at the end when God wrote back. That signifies that He hears us when we pray and will answer every prayer; maybe not when we want it, but always when we need it. Congratulations! Your son is healed in Jesus' Name.

This is yet another great entry into this contest. This was was different though. The reply was smart (but I don't know how "legal" it was.) It reminded me of that Mother Teresa quote about Him not giving you more than you can handle.

Nice work. :)

Thank you so much for the kind words, and the five stars. I know -- I wondered about the reply, but the contest did say to expect a reply so I took a little liberty at the end. :-)
