A beautiful sonnet in tribute to mothers. I am not a poet so sonnets are no different to me than other poetry, freestyle, sing song or regimented stuff. I write poetry but I don't know the math. I write my poetry from inspiration and if rhythm happens, it happens. Thanks for a beauty.

a herculean task taking on a crown of sonnets. some are stronger than others, but all throughout the love between you and your mother shines through. my wife and her family fled Russia when she was thirteen ( under Brezhnev). just wish you had explored the difficulties adapting to life here a bit more. but that would probably be another poem.

Thank you, ravenblack. My emphasis was on my mother, more than adapting to life in America. Good to talk to the fellow Russian.

What a lovely tribute to your mother. It brought tears to my eyes as I remembered my own dear mother. She's been gone six years and I miss her still. I am not a qualified poetry critic, so can't say anything about technique, but truly enjoyed the story told here in lyrical tone. Very nice.

I like this and don't like it at the same time. I was sorry for your loss but so happy you had time with your mother whom you obviously love so much that is such a gift to love like that . Thanks for the poem

You have definitely accomplished a great poem here. This is such a challenging style. I loved the message to your Mom, the descriptive language and the pictures painted with your words definitely takes your readers to every place. Great job and good luck in the contest.

A difficult process to cary out perfect rhyme in a Crown of HeroicSonnets. Yours is an excellent epic for the love of an important picture in your life shared with someone close to you and always remembered for her life skills and kindness.

Thank you for your exceptional review and the six stars. Yes, the Crown of sonnets is quite an undertaking. But I thrive on challenges.

This is a beautiful tribute to your mother and the life she lived. Some mothers are just unforgettable, and this little writing shows how much you miss and love your mother. I am very intrigued by the description in this. I loved the way this is written. I have not studied sonnets, ect. so I can't really critique those things, but I do know what I like and this meets all of the requirements. From the heart!

That was outstanding and I love the story you wove. What a beautiful relationship you had with your mother in real life and you still have a beautiful relationship now that she's gone. May I ask how old you are now and what it is you do for a job? I'm trying to figure out where Vegas fits into all of this. An outstanding contest entry. How did you make out in the contest? Thank you for sharing. It really was outstanding. xxx Michele

Thank you for your outstanding review and the six stars. My mother was the light of my life. Now that she is gone, I often feel only half alive. I did live in Vegas for two years after she died (felt the need to get out of NY); and I want to go back there. I wrote "The crown for Vegas" for my last crown of heroic sonnets contest. You may find it interesting to read.

What a moving story of the life of an immigrating poet from Russia. It is full of emotion and also a hope for a better future. Well chosen words that rhyme so well.
Russia, I am told -for I have relatives there, is a beautiful country.
Yeltel, I'm truly sorry about your mom.
Courage, my friend. America seems to suit you. Hope it brings happiness,
Alex.
