It is crazy how our minds go from talking about being sober and marriage and everything all while we're still messed up. I could actually see someone talking about sobering up while getting high. You know this is my last time kind of thing even tho we know they will probably get high again. You have to hit the rock bottom

Hi D. H, Even Though these stories are full of loss and sadness, I love the fact you have the guts to put your dysfunction out here, I enjoy your truth and the story that follows: kindest regards J.J.

Harboring hopelessness is something that addiction causes, that seems to be the feeling that she has. This poem allows us to enter the mind of an addict and it shows the desperate situation that she is in. She is reaching out for help, and you are destined to give it at the crossroad.

This is a desperate plea on her side to find a way to make the situation healthy. She does change in the middle when she realizes why her partner is the way he is. Maybe if they work together to get straight they can have a normal relationship. It seems he may not be ready yet, but he might be thinking it is a good idea. It ends still on a negative note that if the don't change soon it will blow them both apart.

This is a brilliant piece of work... an example of capturing a moment in time pivoting to yet another moment in time... but both moments coursing from the same tunnel. The first is wailing, frustrated, accusatory, insistent. The second is as a mother to a child... a teacher to a student... a minister to his flock...
My love, you are my darling man... begins the new voice from the same well... 'My shine in knighting armor'... an exceptional piece of mirror imaging!
This is truly the voice of the 'powder'... of the 'pixie dust'... of the 'before glow' of the 'after death'
Well done

Hello Dopeless, It's a telling tale you weave here my friend. Do you love her enough or hate her more? I like the seriousness of this encounter and possibly the strength in your calmness through it all...good stuff mate! xoxo Wii

Very well written story in poem here. Your words flow smoothly and tell the whole scene. Shows deep thinking. When we come down we have a choice.

Well written and thought provoking. Your message came through clearly.
I am impressed with your rhyming and verbiage. Keeping a story going using meter and rhyming must be a difficult task.
Keep writing.

This is a truly wonderful piece. I really enjoyed the reality of the poem. It makes these reality television shows look stupid. This piece could really open up into a book. I will be front and center to purchase it when it does. You are brilliant. Thanks for sharing.
