I guess I'm thick, why do they keep thinking the priest did it? Or did he do it and I'm just too taken with his kindliness to see it? But he wasn't that evil person in the chair, so he couldn't be the killer. Though the evil in the chair wasn't the killer either, was he? Wasn't he an uninvited guest?
Oh dear, I'm having to use my noggin and think, not my strong suit lately.
I need to come help the Sheriff track down the real killer. It'll save him so much time. :-)

I guess I'm thick, why do they keep thinking the priest did it? Or did he do it and I'm just too taken with his kindliness to see it? Oh boy the suspense and action in this one has me almost screaming. Creepy and I'm sure will get creepier....I know one thing for sure this is too much spooky to read it in the dark.
or a storm as its pounding outside....
You have me on the edge of my seat and I'm not afraid to say I may need to run to the bathroom and lock the door ....that has been my hiding spot:D Kids know that of course so it doesn't work anymore....

Good chapter, perhaps the sheriff needs to look at the rectory a lot more closely.

I like how the sheriff puts the mental bent of a psychopathic killer, and the line: Maybe God's okay with that, but I'm not. That's very powerful.
I enjoy Derek's suspicious mind, and his misgivings about the Father.
Great suspenseful ending, Bev. Very well written, as usual!

You are leaving so many options here for the reader to try to guess just who the murderer is; and, to me, that is the sign of a good mystery. I saw absolutely no spags here. Great job!
