See, I knew Black wasn't going to kill the baby. Or you wouldn't have anything else to write. Of course, Radshaw didn't know that until the end of this chapter.

Yeah, you were well ahead, lol. Thanks, Thomas. It's been a lot of fun, fiddling with these chapters and reviving them.

I loved the revelations of what was under the veil... so now we know what it is he has to do and what it is he is trying to save, I know if I were him I'd be thinking what the f*ck have I done to deserve this sh*t, ha ha. Brilliant chapter!

Hehe, this was a lot of fun to write. I'd been stuck for a while (like, a year - ahem!) and needed a way for Radshaw to get a new lead. Then a documentary on fake psychics gave me the idea! So glad you liked it, mate.

Holt crap Mike, this chapter is totally intense. The old gypsy is one hell of a new twist. She spells out the what ifs and the holy cow, but he still goes forward. Engrossing story

This one took me ages to formulate because I needed a way for Radshaw to get a lead that was in keeping with the story line. A documentary on fake psychics gave me the idea!

This is a very interesting story. The author creates vivid imagery for the reader in this piece of writing. The author manages to make the reader buy into this story and forget about what is real and not real.

Oh this one was just as good as the last. I appreciate the humor. I write about angel-bloods, who are part mortal. I already love this baby and all that it represents. It's always nice when the underdog has the ability to change the future. This was brilliant. Thanks so much for sharing.

Thank you! This chapter came out of thin air. I was feeling a bit stuck as I needed a new lead for Radshaw. Then I saw a documentary about psychics and this chapter was born.
A year later, I'm finally working on the next installment.

Now...Mike, you must know that I do not normally go for this 'theme' of writing. For some reason your style (very descriptive btw) drew me in. I really appreciate your style, you take the reader with you, along for the ride, so to speak. I am not a writer of novels, and have only dabbled in shorts, but I am an avid reader and I know excellence when I read it-you my friend are inspirational.
I find that I am so drawn into your writing that if there are errors, I do not see them.
I realize that I should be helping and offering suggestions, but other than my opinion, I am at a complete loss. Your writing is intriguing and perfect just the way it is.
thank you so very much, I shall be hopping to your site to 'fan' you so that I don't miss any more of your words.
thank you so very much,
k

Thanks so much, Tammy :-). When I saw the time since my last chapter of this, I knew I had to get on with it! I've written a whole book in the gap, for sod's sake! Anyway, I was overdue some Mike Radshaw therapy. Let's hope I can get the next chapter out a bit quicker :-).

I am immensely grateful that I happened upon this story. It is a fast-paced, tongue-in-cheek gem that I am sure I will be visiting repeatedly. I have read similar works by your countryman, Mr. Simon Green, but his characters in the Nightside series are decidedly different. Your characters and storyline are altogether different, totally home-spun and possessed of wit and irreverence. Radshaw is the character that I imagine would have sprung up had John Taylor (from Green's Nightside series) coupled with Repairman Jack (from F. Paul Wilson's Repairman Jack series). I am going to finish this review now, and go off in search of more of this material. I need humor and action after having spent a lot of time wading through lesser work yesterday... But that is a story for another time...
Salud!

Thanks for the great review, Wes :-). I love Simon R Green, though I haven't encountered F. Paul Wilson. I think Mike Radshaw grew from my heavy sarcasm habit, the Nightside, and a large dollop of Jim Butcher's Dresden books.
I love writing with this character, although it can be exhausting at times. So glad you enjoyed the read!

Ahhh, Fleedleflump:
Wasn't it fun to make a believer out of a non-believer
as you were writing this? It almost felt as if you were
having a bit too much fun as you shared this chapter.
It would not be pretty if I had to share my darkest
thoughts, for sure.
thanks for sharing
can't wait to see the next installment
love,
jan

I think, as writers, we do tend to plumb the darker corners of our thoughts as well as the bright - it's how we create character motivations. I loved writing the bit where he blackmails the malicious spirit into capitulating with fluffy, happy emotions. I guess this TV psychic turned out to be more than just an arse - who knew!
Thanks for reading - hopefully less than 11 mobths befire the next part :-).
