Another fine offering, Brooke. It seems somewhat more appropriate with Easter just around the corner, doesn't it? Your visuals with words are superb as always. Bob

The six is because I love the analogy, and even envied it as I am still cleaning up the shop. My days are more like Pink Floyd's song called, "Time:"
"And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but you're older
And shorter of breath and one day closer to death."
So this poem is actually a stark realization for me, as I get to enjoy both day and night between the ticks, tocks and beats. Well written, nice analogy and I feel you captured a wonderful mood.

What a lovely central metaphor, encompassing nature, humanity, and our daily lives to their mutual benefit. This is gorgeous, Brooke, and I very much enjoyed reading it :-).

Beautiful poem. The imagery is wonderful. It makes you wonder what's going on after the sun's disappeared over the horizon. Is she cashing out her drawer and making sure it's balanced before she heads onwards to light up someone else's day?

This is a beautiful poem. I like the thought of day closing her shop each night. You should put together a book of poetry.

This picture is certainly a part of the poem. I wondered whether it was in the tropics - what a great idea of 'shutting up shop'! Really enjoyed reading this - terrific!
