Aussie, you do not need a lot of words in order to paint important pictures. We think a lot alike...I would like to become your fan. OK? Devados

Unfortunately It will probably be when none of us are left. I heard Jesse Jackson in 1970 say "If all men and women looked the same, but half were right-handed and the others left-handed each would think himself better than the other. I hate to say this Kate, but the animals are more civilized then men. They kill only to live unless sick or frightened by abuse (and that is usually abuse done by a human). Blessings - C

A solid acrostic for Wilderness, Kay.
I like the opening alliteration in whistling winds
and your option use of alternate-line rhyming.
good alliteration in shattering shelling
Strong social commentary and vivid detail that adds power to your commentary
good alliteration in holding hands
A compelling closing Brooke

Brooke, Thank you for taking the time to read my acrostic; war reverberates around the world and we are all touched. Bless you, K.

i love this acrostic poem. wilderness has been used to state untouched land, where as wilderness can also be sublime. how many days did jesus stay in the wilderness taunted by the devil, was it 40?

I think He was tempted by the devil for 40 days and 40 nights. I am pleased you liked the poem, thank you. Blessings, K.

Your message gathers strength with each line and the truth is clear. But humanity hasn't a good track record and war hangs around to do its destructive thing. I think you did a great job with this acrostic poem; none of the lines are forced but flow naturally.

Hullo Aussie ....

What you have said in this well-written Acrostic poem, coupled with your Notes at the end, provides us all with
much to think about ... and to wonder, with you, when all the fighting in the world will end.
May I suggest that, when presenting Acrostic poems, instead of clicking on the "centre" button, just leave the lines as they are written - all starting at the left margin. This way, your Acrostic word is clearly visible.
I do like your Camel!
Love from .... Nanette Mary.

Very clever and I really enjoyed the sounds of the words you used. Excellent rhyme and some alliteration and assonance at work too.

Hi Kace,

You have penned a great acrostic poem for the contest. The theme is creative that describes how awful for the people of
Afghanistan. Your rhyming pattern is effective and gives the lines a musical sound when read aloud. Well done and good luck in the contest.....blessings, chey

You did a wonderful job with the rhyme. I have only one suggestion...it is always easier to read an acrostic if the sentences are lined up evenly to spell out the word when reading downward. Centering the text throws the reader off.

We can wish for wars to end, we can prey for war to end, but in our hearts we know the only thing that will stop the war is the second coming of Christ
