This is so cute. The characters are believeable and fun reading about. So did Thaddeus bring back a girlfriend and have a turtle family? Thanks for sharing.

Carolyn, I'm so happy that you enjoyed this little story. I have in mind a 3 book series about Thaddeus written for children. Haven't begun that project yet. I already have 3 or 4 stories/poems started and I need to finish something before I start another. livelylinda

love this turtle's tale! he is wise and cheerful, and an optimist at heart despite the perilous existence of his life! this is a great little tale told from your turtle's viewpoint, and i'm down in that grass with him, avoiding predators and 'running' around the meadow! love his friend the otter too! i can almost see the cheery way he lives his life in the water! great read!

Love it, so cute! The thing that made it for me was Otto's note in the end. And I actually know someone named Thaddeus. And my old neighbors had a turtle. (Or a tortoise, I think.) Very sweet, thank you!

A very sweet story incorporating a lot of imagination! I love the imagery of cars being the masters' of humans. I think you have probably pointed a few things out, from a small creatures point of view, that we humans wouldn't even think about. Well done!

Thaddeus has an interesting life. He is a fast mover in winning his lady love, Thelma. I hope they don't get hit on the Great Wide Way coming home. :o) I found a couple of little spags.
I am actualy lucky (actually)
There was enough long grasses in the clearing ( there were enough long grasses)
if one should wonder in (wander in)
I take a deep breath and leep (leap)
Cute idea, telling the story from a turtle's point of view.
Nice job.
Nita :-)
