Due to the context of your well written poem here, gudbjorg, I have no doubt you're familiar with the story of Job from the Old Testament of the Bible.
Having said that, I believe God allows Satan to test us from time to time as well, just as He did Job.
How we respond to those tests has a lot to say about our faith and our love for God.
I'll admit, I've shook my fist at the heavens and screamed at Him, 'WHY?', at the top of my lungs myself. Yet He's still here, regardless of my blasphemous indiscretions and disrespect.
Still, I feel it's unwise to pretend that there's an inherent darkness ingrained in each and every one of us. A good field general studies and learns his adversaries inside and out in order to defeat him.
We must do the same.
The stars shine brightest when the skies are at their darkest.

Thank you so much for your encouraging review. It's good to see how aware you are of the real world battles! You're right that 'The stars shine brightest when the skies are at their darkest' but there's also the important counsel to 'Let the Light in and the darkness will flee of itself'. Studying and learning our adversary's tactics is best approached from the perspective of the Light. The Word has all the information about fighting his tactics that we could need!

Maybe I'm a bit dim, explaining why it's not clear to me what the keys are. Your capitalization of "my" in the next to last stanza suggests that you are God. You do sound authoritative.You're not Him, are you? :)

Thank you so much for your review and, before I say anything else, is that Me written with a capital letter is not me, but it refers to Jesus. The keys refer to the keys of the Kingdom of heaven, (Matthew 16:1-20). In v. 16, Jesus referred to Peter as He answered his question but He was also speaking to all His disciples and all true believers in Christ, not just then but for all time. According to these scriptures, we, as believers in Christ, can have access to the keys. According to your faith be it done unto you (Matthew 9:29)! God is love, He cares about each one of us, understands that we make mistakes constantly, but then loves us anyway.

This is a well written poem with very nice aabb rhyme and flow. It seems all believers are under a great deal of oppression now, but the enemy's time is short.

Thank you so much for such a great review, Yes, true and the Lord always pulls us through if we put our trust in Him as David said in the book of Psalms: "Though I walk through the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil for thou art with me all the days of my life." David also "encouraged himself" in the Lord. This has often been my guiding light as each one of us has to find Him personally and link with His Spirit. We got to learn to lean on Him, trust Him that everything is going to be fine in because He's there all the time. His Spirit in us. He and the Holy Spirit. The greatest Love of all.
