Wow! God bless you! You definately get a badge of courage.

"His eyes met mine as he said, "I can't answer that question. It doesn't work that way with cancer. If you die at 100 from a heart attack, you were cured of cancer. If you die at 100 from cancer, you were in remission.""

I find the medical profession most times are terribly insensitive or just don't know what the heck they are doing. They treat you like a guinea pig and expect you to like it cause they are "saving you". I pray that you are definately healed. Keep the faith!

So we are talking about the big C. The attack on our physical being; is it a remission or has it gone? Maybe we can learn to live with it having suffered it so much."Why?"
Because God ordained it so. God does not confuse the physical with the spiritual. Our minds do. Now we are asking God to absolve us of this attack on our souls. Why should God preoccupy himself with us, we ask a thousand times, when the effects where off and we can breathe again. If we are all God's children, he accepts us,warts and all. God is never disgusted. We belong to him or so we think, so think on this one. Whatever life we have left to us, it is never enough. We have so much yet to do, yet we are allowed so little time. It is never enough. Is that God's power over us? Yore final words are not encouraging. Why should he save us from ourselves.Of what benefit to whom is it to be comforted by him. The wise say acceptance is all. -Ekim

Thank you for the review. I am not sure why I recieved four stars, I guess because you didn't like my conclusion.
reply by Ekim777 on 29-Jun-2011
Because we tend to confuse God or whatever is the good with our physical selves. Right; who am I to judge anybody? -Ekim

I didn't know differences in religious believes were reasons for awarding stars. I thought the stars were a rating based on the quality of written.
reply by Ekim777 on 29-Jun-2011
We are not talking about differences in religious beliefs. We are referring a confusion of the physical and the religious as we confront matters of life and death. We are talking about the human spirit in the face of death.

In my religion it's the same thing.

Wow - raw, honest, open, real. What a well-written piece. Having 6, yes, that's right, 6, close friends who have endured breast cancer, I'm sure it does not help a lot (but maybe just a little) to hear you are not alone. What I learned from the journey that each of them took is that attitude is everything. You, like my dear friends, seem to have a great one. Let's face it, next to a good attitude, humor is your strongest weapon. Here's to your next 100 years and more writing!

Congratulations are in order. You have fought a brave fight and are the winner. I know the struggle with cancer is a long and arduous battle but your positive attitude and faith in God has pulled you through. God bless you.

I can understand your frustrations, but I think all will be well soon. It takes a while for doctors to give a positive prognosis when it comes to cancer.

Your positive attitude will over-ride your frustrations. And you will always have your fellow fanstorians to vent on.

Well done. In my eyes you have done all you can do. Now its back to faith, self love and believing that you are indeed cured. That self belief alone will increase your chances.
Stay positive, belief you are already healed. Even if you have your voice taped saying "Barbara you are healed" repeatedly...and Play it and listen to it....
Keep well.
Yes I too have walked with cancer. 1999 throat cancer my son was 6 mths old, a daughter 1.5 year old, and another daughter 4.5.....long battle to the living......and now at this moment in time I am just starting up a new set of treatment...it came back, stage 2....and the battle begins again.
I am doing everything I said at the top of this review.
Faith even faith in one's self is the most important cure.
Keep well and blessings
Maureen

Heartbreaking story. My uncle died of colon cancer...I had just gotten married and didn't live near him while he was undergoing everything you are living through now, but I heard about it...I feel for you and you're in my prayers for a PERMANENT recession!

Wow. What a journey. This is such a poignant piece of writing. An editor I worked for once told me to 'write what you know.' But 'know' this subject is...hey I don't even have the words. Bless you, brave lady.

I am so glad to here that you are doing better. I know how you feel about all you've gone through and have no real answer. My grand-ma had her breast remover and when through what you are. Everyday she looked in the mirror and told herself she was cured (to hell with the doctors) she lived to 86yr. Good luck.

Wow, Barbara. This was a very touching portrayal of what you have been through. It was superbly done with heart-wrenching detail but with humor to lighten the reading. Flawless in diction and absent of any spag, there was just no reason it should not receive six stars. Best of success and I am believing you art totally cured...Tim
