Hullo Barbara ....

I think this really deserves the 6th star award which I am happy to give to you.
Right now, my dear husband is getting weaker by the day and has been asked by his Doctor if he wishes to die at home or be sent to a Hospice or Hospital. Without hesitation, he chose to remain at home. The first signs of his present Cancer became visible in mid-September. There are long delays here for consultations with Specialists and, to cut a long story short, this resulted in us deciding to use a treatment which has been successful at the hands of an Italian Doctor for about thirty years.
I have, in two periods of three week applications, managed to completely flatten and remove about 7 large tumours, much to the amazement of the Palliative Care Nurses and even the famous Lymph Specialist, when he saw the notes I had made accompanied by the photographs showing the progress of what I was doing, said to me ... "Carry on with that treatment."
If you want more information, let me know and I will tell you where to find the book/books relative to this and other natural cures for Cancer.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
Love from ... Nanette Mary.

Barbara, you are a warrior, who can now lay down her shield and know that you have conquered. No one is going to tell you that you are completely healed, but because your doctor threw out the ripe old age of 100, I think he's giving us some great news!

Hi Barbara,

I am so glad you wrote this as we have been praying for you and it means a lot to know you have finished your treatments and will soon return to your old self. (that is the self before cancer!) I don't think any doctor would say you are cured and beware of any doctor that gives you a guarantee. Even though it has been many years since I had cancer I still get suspicious every time I don't feel good or find something that's wasn't there before. That is the plight of all victims of that devastating disease. The ending you wrote here is hopeful and just always know He is there for you....blessings, chey

I had not been in the computer for a long time myself due too many tests and lack of energy, but holding in there. So I understand your journey and fight against this monster. I truly hope that you recover and die of remission or cured at 100 LOL.

I am very sad reading your post. I can certainly understand how you would want to hear those magic words "you are cured" after the hell you went through. I wish you good thoughts and send you red roses!

Brave of you to write this. I'm a private person, so if someone writes on something so intimate and life-centered I have to salute them.

Cancer. Yeah, my mom had the same kind - long, long ago. They caught it early enough, but the surgeries and treatment were bad. Luckily I was too young and self-centered to worry much.

It's ugly at any rate.

Your essay was, by the way, well written.

I love that you can report all of this with such a sense of humor, Barbara :-)
Your inner thoughts about the doctors and treatments have me laughing.
I like the balance you maintain between humor and thoughtful reflection, too. What a great conclusion to this essay. Sending you hugs and love :-) Brooke

Thank you for your kind review and support. I did go out and buy myself a banana split.

Good for you!! Hope you had extra chocolate sauce :-)

Hot fudge, it can cure anything.
reply by adewpearl on 26-Jun-2011
Until I was eleven I had always just had chocolate sauce on sundaes, and then my stepmother and her brother took me to an ice cream parlor in Wisconsin when we were visiting him. I had my very first hot fudge sundae, which remains one the best memories of my life. LOL
reply by the author on 26-Jun-2011
You can't beat a hot fudge sundea unless you can convince them to throw a banana on it.

Thank you for your kind review. I thinks cancer and I are at a stand off right now. I am sure there's a western term for it. Sort of the ok corral thingie.
