I love your attitude but certainly not any idiot that says, "150 hours of excercise will lower the risk of reoccurance", well DUH! That's because you died of a massive coronary! Best wishes, me...thinks you should stick to prayer and trust in God, not sure the others are all that encouraging right now. lol.

I guess if I die of a massive cornonary then I am cured of cancer. (LOL). I appreciate your sense of humor and kindness.

You are a pillar of courage, as well as a great writer. I was completely moved by your words here. I just posted a short story today called "When the Piano Player Died" that somewhat touches upon what you've been through and may even encourage you. As a Reiki Master I send you healing energy, and positive thoughts.

Thank you for your kindness. I will look your post up this afternoon. I am off to a funeral of a friend who didn't survive cancer.

Bravo girl!! You live you 115 and write for us all the time here at FanStory
It seems to me that today's so called specialists are noncommittal without backbone.
Cynthia and I wish you a speedy full recovery.

I'm certain your upbeat attitude has encouraged a lot of people on site who have been following this battle. Cancer, multiple sclerosis, whatever, the constant fight never seems to quite win the war.

I guess it's like the saints and mystics all keep saying. It's all about the journey. Your strength through this one is reflected in your writing about it.

Barbara:

Maybe your oncologist only said 100 because he figured you weren't going to be doing 150 hours (are you kidding me?) of exercises a week because it would interfere with your writing!!! Did anyone tell him there's only 168 hours available in a week?

I think there comes a poing you have to park it somewhere in your mind and move on with life. I do realize that's easier said than done due to some issues I have but anything else tends to immobilize people.

Godspeed to you, my friend.
Your journey has been an inspiration to many, including me.
love,
jan

Thanks for sharing this update, dear B. Glad to hear you are in remission--that is a positive thing--and with a positive attitude (and God's Grace) I hope it stays in remission. Glad this ended on a note of hope.

I'm not going to critique this, as this is more like a letter to all of your friends here than a formal essay. But I do suggest posting it as comments only--as that is most appropriate for this genre.

i like your raw-honest tone and delivery.

Sending warm healing light and prayers for your continued recovery and remission.

Love,
rd

Tell me about it! My mum is 98, and has stopped telling people her age, because they immediately categorise her as an invalid. She's not. She is no athlete anymore, but is still active. So bring it on, Barbara. 115...here we come! God bless you for being able to endure the treatment and its complications, and still come through smiling, supported by your faith. Well done!! Giddy :) x

I am so sorry you didn't get the answer you needed so badly. As a hospital worker in the pathology lab where we are the first to see any and all cancers, I can tell you it is not a cut and dried cure. The doctors don't want to say so anyway. They have to cover their butts in case they may be wrong. Cancer is a sneaky disease. You just never know but you have to think positively. That's your survival tool. You just concentrate on how you feel now and the fact that you are getting better and enjoy the times you do feel good. You have come through all the bad stuff and hopefully it is all behind you. It is good to see from the way you wrote this, that you have not lost your sense of humor. You go, girl.

Well Barbara, I think you have come to the best and most
realistic conclusion and insight as to being cured of
Cancer. Now that you have went through the hell of
getting rid of it. I cannot imagine Divine One not
being there for you in the ways you resovled for yourself.
He is the Divine Physician...after all...before there
were medical or scientific healers, and He will be there
when all those 'experts' are long gone too!
You have the 'right stuff' in you faith and trust wise,
to wee you through what ever lies ahead. Stay with it...
and I would not be surprised to be around at 115! Go for
it. Thanks for sharing this awesome event in your life.
You giv grace and courage a whole new meaning! God
Bless you always!!!
